| Hi, we're newbies from Southern Oregon This is our first visit to this forum and we're excited to find it. We are located in the Beautiful wild and scenic area of Grants Pass, Oregon along the famous Rogue River near Hellsgate Canyon where movies such as River Wild and Without a Paddle were filmed. We absolutely love Yorkies. We have one very spoiled AKC Female appropriately named Sassy (age 2) and her equally spoiled 4 week old puppies (two girls and two boys). They're just now getting up and playing with each other. I do however get a little concerned when they want to gang up on the smallest female. She is an itsy bitsy thing that weighed only 3 onces on my digital postal scale when born compared to the others at 4/5 onces. She does get back at them when they don't seem to be looking with a rear end nibble here and there. Maybe she'll follow after her Mom and be a sweet little sassy thing too. Our only other dog is a very spoiled older Pom named Angel. She's eleven years old and slowing down but we love her just the same. We wanted another dog Angel could teach before she got too old. We decided on a Yorkie due to the size and non shedding factor. Sassy is a great companion and still sleeps with us even though she has the puppies. She constantly checks on them and has turned out to be a great mom. |
