| The story of my CHi-Weenie....Bonnie. Life and Death of my Beautiful BOnnie~ the best big sis Gia will never know. When I was a pre-teen I found this dirty little dog running through the woods behind my house. She was a fire cracker, and ran faster than lightening. I spent the whole day coaxing her to me. She apparently was NOT socialized, and was scared of ppl. Finally she came to me & I could tell she had a bit of mange, fleas covering her and ticks galore. But through that I could see this adorable little girl. She was dappled, and had the body of a dachsund, but the legs, and ears of a chiuhuahua. SHe was precious. I begged my parents to let me keep her, and with enough whining I got my way. She was my 1st dog. We took her to the vet, adn then the groomer and she was like a whole new dog. She became my little sidekick. She slept w/ me and rode to school with me, and then home w/ my disabled step dad. While we were close, I guess her staying home with him every day for 6 years made her a little closer to him. So, when I left home after high school, he asked if she could stay. He was lonely, and she was his best friend so I left her there. In 2005 he died. She sat in his chair for days, without eating or moving. Mom took food and sat it on the chair with her. Everytime she heard a noise she looked up for him. It was horrible. She was going to die of heartache. So, I went to get her and bring her to live with me in hopes that having my son to play with would cheer her up. It wasnt' too long before she was better. She and Gaving became best buddies. Everything was wonderful. I live at the dead end of a dirt road, about a mile long that ends on an FM road. We have an acre & 1/2 of property and plenty of room for her to play. My dad came to visit one day, and I took her and my son out to the swing set. She was runnign around, barking at my dad and then she just disappeared. I wasnt' worried, I figured she was chasing a squirrel on the other side of the house. Not even 5 minutes later my sister pulled in my driveway and told me that Bonnie was on the FM road, and had been run over. I left my son and ran down to find her. She wasn't there. I was sure my ssiter was mistaken. Bonnie never went to the end of the road. I was wrong. The neighbors were havign work done to their driveway and had a tractor going up and down the road. Bonnie followed it,a nd when it made a wide turn.. she was not expecting it ran over her. The tractor driver called my neighbors and they went immediately to get her so that I wouldn't happen upon her. They called later and let me know they had her, and they made her a small little coffin if I wanted to bury her in it. I told my son, and we had a little cermony. I told him that she was finally with the person she loved the most, his Pop, and that she was very happy. I believe that too. While she loved us, she never was quite the same once he left. I will miss her always, as will everyone who knew her. She was the best BIG sis, that my new yorkie girl Gia will never get to know. |

| Oh heavens, what a dreadful thing to happen. Isn't it wonderful though, the years you had with what most people would consider a mutt? I just love the little foundlings, it's almost like they know how lucky they are to have a wonderful home with people who love them. Keep your eyes open; there may just be another one waiting for you. |

| I'm so sorry for your loss. Your precious little Bonnie was so lucky you found her and gave her a good home with so much love. She is smiling down on you from her perch on the bridge and her spirit will always be watching over you. God Bless.
