| Looking for info. I want a quiet small dog. LOL I love Mr J. but would like another small {toy} breed dog that's not a yapper. something I hope with a coat. with a clownish temperment. { is that a proper word} and good with kids and other animals. TyTy and Mr J Looking for ideas. |

| Try doing a google search for dog breed selector. Here is a link to one http://www.selectsmart.com/DOG/ It might help you narrow down the playing field. Look for a breed that is NOT a good watch dog, and that is fairly easy to train. Barking is like any other behavior, you have to train them not to do it. Some dogs just naturally don't bark, but that is in their personality and not the breed necessarily.

| Maltese or Japenese Chin Well I hate to say it. Mr J is super yapper. {yorkie/jack russell mix} and we're finding the jack have to be SUPER YAPPER! LOL. Mr J barks all day over everything. I stand up,he barks, walk around our trailor he barks. TV chanel change he barks. {we're training Quiet. Good Quiet} Maltese I love those dogs. and around here a AKC female can be found for about $500. to $600. {within my current budget, with a credit card for vet bills with a balance of $3000. open on it.} I do the math like these. I've got four credit cards. One is for MrJ only {$6000.}for vet stuff and only vet stuff or ER stuff for our home. and two cards for basic crap stuff. {those get paid off yearly} I don't mind grooming and really wanted a little girl to dress up and love. TyTy and Mrj and maybe Miss J. LOL |

| Maltese or Papillon maybe? Papillon are so smart that they can be trained easily.

| I have 4 dogs. My dachshund barks the most and she is the oldest. I think she does not see and hear as well as she used to and is more easily worried over what she does hear. My Jack Russell almost never barks or yaps. Of the two Yorkies, one will yap when playing/chasing the other dogs or when the dachshund starts and the other little Yorkie has never barked or yapped yet. So, maybe it is something in the dog's personality and not just the breed???
