| My Shihtzu was about 7 pounds fully grown, but she looked a lot smaller because she was so darn compavt and boxy. She was a dollface

| Several years ago, we had a rescue Shih-tzu that we named Buddy....he was black and white and ohhh so cute! He was about a year old when we got him and he had had a rough start to life. He didn't live very long....I think he wasn't even 3 when he passed on. He had the sweetest temperment EVER! - especially for all the suffering he had been though. He had a wave to his hair, but we always kept it cut short, except for his tail. He was between 6-9lbs (it was always up and down because he was always sick and on meds). I have a friend who raises Shih-tzu's and they seem to be really healthy, and easy going. ---Small, but not fragile. Buddy was just sick from the get go and we knew it....we thought we could give him a better life for the time he had left. ---Which over $3k later and less then a year, he left us. I seen one just about a week ago at a craft fair....he was soooo tiny, not very old and oh soooo sweet! He looked like a little fluff ball bouncing over the small blades of grass! He must be going to be super small when he is grown because he was tiny. I really like Shih-tzu's. I agree w/ their coats being about the same as a Yorkie coat....you can have the silky or cottony coat and sometimes there might be a little wave (which can normally be controlled w/ products and brushed flat). And their face.......oh soooo sweet! Good luck on whatever you decide!

| I love Shih Tzu's, their beautiful in their full coat. They have a double coat though, unlike yorkies. So I'm assuming they shed. My sister-in-law just got a shih tzu puppy, she's so cute! |
