| Golden Retrievers?? Does anyone have a golden retriever or know anything about them?? I am wanting to get one, it won't be for awhile, 6 months to a year before I have the room for one. I love goldens because of their dispositions and I want a bigger dog so I chose a golden and I really, really love the breed. I grew up with a golden, she was the best dog ever. However, I was very young so I don't know everything about them. I know the conformation, breed standard, temperments, health problems. I know alot about them, it is just a little bit I don't know. I know hip displayia is a big thing for goldens. I know the parents should be checked, but are the puppies checked for this too, or are they too young to be checked for it?? Do breeders have a guarantee that the puppies won't have hip displayia?? Also, what is a good price for a golden puppy that has excellent or champion bloodlines?? Oh and on a website that bred goldens it said that they were tested for the hips and they came out 90%. I am not sure if they mean their hips came out 90 percent clear or if they hips are 90 percent good, or what that means. Shoulden't they all be 100%??? My mother said that our golden came from champion parents and had champion bloodlines and she was guaranteed for life to not ever have hip displaysia. Is this common for breeders to do?? I remember our golden shedding alot and know that most goldens shed alot. Would putting them on a good food help control the shedding?? Or what would you recommend to keep the shedding down or not so much?? If anyone could answer my questions or point me in the right direction as to where I can find the answers, I would appreciate it very much!!!! Thank You!!!!!
