Michelle, I'm just now seeing this. I am so sorry about Max...bless his heart. Glad he's feeling better. How is your son doing? I am sending positive thoughts and prayers for you all. This is something we all dread and is so painful when we are faced with an older fur family member.

Brandon and DH are both still in denial about how serious it is. My DIL who works for our vet,keeps telling them that what we are doing is just a band-aid fix..but they think he is going to be cured

Awh Michelle, my head has been down so much I am only now getting back to your thread.
I really hope his treatments continue to work. You know Zoey's story I am hoping you will have more time with a happy Max who still enjoys his life.

Thank you so much Gail...I know what you went through had to be the hardest thing in your life. Sweet Zoey was just so young to have this happen to her.
Max has had a long and full happy life and when his time comes I hope the men in my family can accept it. I cannot and will not let him suffer.

This reminded me of my MIL when her dog got really old. She kept thinking he could be 'fixed'!.... I finally had to tell her they are not like cars, you can't replace all their organs. They get old and things just wear out. You do what you can, but when you run out of options, you have to let them go.
