My husband was just saying to tell you to check with another agent. He has a buddy at work that just got a pitbull puppy and he lost his insurance. My Hubby told his friend to call state farm and I guess the agent he called told him no. My hubby called our agent and they were fine with it. So call around and check with different agents.

I think people need to remember all dogs are animals with animal instincts and given the right set of circumstances any dog can turn. Some breeds have more powerful jaws and so when they turn they do more damage. It's not doing it because its got a grudge but because its instincts tell it it's in danger or threatened. All dogs have the potential to harm not just the bull breeds.

so bad that in many shelters around the country pit bulls are automatically euthanized. There are some rescue groups available, but not that many.

That;s weird this subject has come up. My insurance company called me 2 weeks ago and wanted to know what kind of dog's we have.Apparently they were out to reaccess our house. I told the girl that was none of her business. She said unless you want your insurance dropped it is. I told her we have 2 chihuahua's 1 yorkie. They had to come to my house to see for them selves because they thought they heard a big dog barking. They did my neighbor has a golden retrevier,and a labradoodle we live in town so the house's are pretty close. Sound;s like our country is turning communist.

My daughter has the sweetest Pit Bull. He would never hurt anyone. It is the way they are trained to fight that gave them the bad name. Remember it used to be German Shepherds. Oh and my daughter got her insurance through Farmers Ins. It was cheaper than what she had. Oh and she also has a Jack Russel. Those two fell in love at puppy school. The lady there had to get rid of the Pit , so my daughter brought him home. They have never left each others side since.

I have a huge german shepherd and a yorkie. my shepherd may be an agressive breed but she wouldn't hurt anything. (: I hate how people judge

That is scary that they had to come to your house and "see" for themselves. You'd almost want to ask for a search warrant.
