| Oh Lou! I'm so happy for you and Cassie. I have the biggest smile on my face picturing you walking in the door and Cassie's wagging little bottom being right there to greet you. It's wonderful to hear that she's eating and feeling so much better all ready. Hugs for you both, Bonny

Yeah !!! I'm so glad Cassie is feeling better. Just think of how much better she will feel once she is completely healed & her stitches are gone.

How long do you suppose I will have to worry about injury. I guess what I mean is how long will it take to heal and when can I stop holding my breath?

If it were me, I'd want a re-check after a week or so just to make sure everything was healing correctly. Your vet should be able to tell you more then.

Cassie's eye is a little less tender today, which made it much easier to put the ointment on. She didn't try to rub it off. She continues to be an exceptionally good little patient. I think there may be a slight increase in swelling so I am keeping me own eye on that, This morning in all the excitement of the first trip outside the little ones were barking their heads off AND TA DA! I heard little woofs coming from one very sweet little shih tzu! She has always hated getting out of bed in the morning so going and getting her wasn't limited to this period of time but she definitely wanted to be part of the crowd. Her confidence has increased tenfold. She didn't follow me around this morning but I found that "I" needed our cuddle time so we sat on the couch for a few minutes. It was so cute the little ones all came up to her one at a time to inspect her face. I'm sure the ointment was an interesting scent but they truly wanted to take advantage of her being held down by Mommy. (Their perception - not actual) I'm really squeamish about cleaning that eye and cringe at the thought of hurting her. I fear I won't do a good enough job and something bad will happen. I know I know - typical mommy thoughts . Anyway, things are going good.

What a Difference a Week Makes! The stitches are starting to dissolve so a couple of edges are sticking up but Cassie let me do a really good cleaning today. No flinching or pulling away. She is sooooo good and sweet I can't get over what a good little patient she is. I think she trusts me though so that makes a huge difference. She is wagging her tail again and begging for treats but the best news is that she has begun washing faces again! Skeeter is beside himself with joy. He is just thrilled to have his mommy dog back in business!

Cassie is getting better all the time Cassie is getting better all the time! She sees shadows but evidently not very clearly. Yesterday she was sitting up begging for food but she was looking at the fridge! Now I know I've gained some weight but not THAT much!
