Dr Jack seemed ,most concerned about Magic's results. I do hpe we can get to the bottom of what is going on there. I think we need at least 6-8 wks to see if Vit C will lower PH of urine, but then again we have high proteins in the plasma and at least one high vs a vs liver function, so that is why the full liver function test is going to be done. In BRT;s liver disease like a YT would have, is as far as I know unknown. But not other types of liver disease. Thanks for the prayers Kristin. It seems like one thing after another recently ![]()

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() Okay, no word personally to me from VEC in Toronto; not on the additional (probably unnecessary heart worm test), no word on when she is scheduled in to be treated; this is after two phone calls, and one email to Dr Norris. So my general vet Dr Jack got involved called VEC and found out the adulticide is on backorder; his suggestion was to call OVC Ontario Veterinary College. I did leave two messages, today I actually spoke with the receptionist, her advice is have your vet call us; I said look all I want to know if you have the drugs on hand to treat heartworm??. She says I don't know I don't know who to forward you to, you must have your vet calls us. Suffering johasafat! All this after taking Razz and Magic in this am to general vet; one for full thyroid panel, and one for full liver panel. My cup runneth over ![]() Hope you all are having a better day than me!

| ![]() I'm sorry that you have to cope with all of this frustration on top of worrying about your babies. I hope you receive positive news from the blood tests on your sweet boys and that Zoey is able to begin her treatment very soon. My heart is with you as you face all of this, and you and your loved ones are in my prayers always. |

Come to think of it though, I started a thread 2-3 days ago, and no one replied. It does hurt one's feelings. But no, your BRTs are awesome, I would never know the breed even existed if it weren't for you posting about them. It's a Welcome change from 'all things Yorkie'. I like the occassional kitty posts too! ![]()

| ![]() Sorry to hear this about your baby. My brothers Schnauzer had heartworms and was treated not sure what meds, he fully recovered and lived to be 15 1/2 years old. Whatever medicine he was taking my brother said he acted like a puppy and not a older dog. My prayers are with you that Zoey will be ok.

| ![]() Hmm, I thought they were going to be able to get the Immiticide and start treatment. ![]() If they can't come up with any, I know it's a long shot, but Ellie's vet office had some last I knew. It would add to the expense, but if you have to come to the US to do it, then that is probably better than waiting too long. Response from OVC yet? I'm thinking the thyroid panel will take awhile to get back. For Magic, I'm still clueless. That all seems pretty odd, esp. if he is still feeling well.

| ![]() I' m thinking maybe it's not all that critical at the stage she's at... bc it takes 7 months for Heartworms to mature to adulthood. Like as long as treatment begins within 2-4 months of being diagnosed, it should not make her condition any worse by waiting. But then again, I'm not sure...

| ![]() I also assume it's the beginning stages (but hadn't heard or don't remember the xray results?). But then, they are already in the heart as adults. Each day they stay, things can get ever-so-slightly worse. Then there is more risk for thrombi and such. So I'd personally want them out of there immediately. That said, so many people do slow kill and the dogs seem to do okay (and the disease can progress during that time). Maybe it's the Canadian supplier that is out?? Just 10 days ago the drug was available here.

| ![]() I am so sorry Gail that you are facing all of this with your doggies. The frustration of not having the medication readily available, sitting on the shelf, for Zoey is enough to contend with. Worrying about Magic and Razzle on top of it all is overwhelming. I've been struggling to maintain my calm while keeping up with my boys and their needs lately -- Max and his restrictions, Teddy covered in tick bites and depressed about not being able to play because Max can't -- so I can imagine how you must feel. Hang in there and know that there are many people here who care for you and your pups and are praying for them daily.
