I am sorry to hear Zoey tested positive. At the shelter we get a lot of HW positive dogs and they have all gone through treatment successfully. They have a walk restriction on their cage so they can only go out to potty and back in during treatment. I will keep Zoey in my prayers.

I'm sorry that Zoe is going to have to go through HW treatment. You can't beat yourselves up for not being perfect...none of us are. I will pray for your Zoe to have a swift recovery and pray for your strength to get through this difficult time.

No I can not...it really is aggravating, but don't beat yourself up on this.... it wasn't like you purposely DIDN't treat them.... s#*^* happens and you have to just get things taken care of.... Zoey is a strong girl AND it sounds like your vet has it together....
Have you had the other 2 checked yet? Hopefully they are negative and you can concentrate on getting Zoey healthy. Keep us posted!

Thank you for reminding me she is a healthy and strong girl. And the other two go in next wk, Razz was already in once, but as this was his first time with this vet Dr Jack didn't want to draw blood for the full blood panel plus of course we split up the shots for Razz, so this upcoming wk Magic and Razz go in; full blood panel for both, urinalysis for Magic, I think he may have either a urinary tract infection, or something as he has been licking his penis quite often, Razz gets another shot.

I've called my ortho vet, to cancel Zoey's OFA's, and to put on hold Razzle's, and Magic's 5yr Xrays as well, until we get the results back. I follow up on Magic's sacral/pelvis area due to the injury he sustained 2yrs ago on his back.

So I can just imagine what a way to make a "first" impression. I transferred just this year to Dr Jack, as I was impressed with his standard of care with Magic. He did acupuncture for him, and recommended some herbs.

So Dr Jack recommended either OVC or VEC in toronto here. He said she will need to be hospitalized for seven days in a facility with 24/7 care.

We have an appt Mon am 8 30 with the internal medicine specialist at Veterinary Emergency Hospital here in Toronto. They are just a 10 minute walk from where I work I also will have Dr Jack Xray her heart and lungs.

This is where I took Magic for his rehab, and also to the dermatologist. I was impressed with the docs I met there.

I do hope they will let me visit with her, she will be so scared! But it is probably for the best that she stay there while the heavy duty treatment is being undergone.

I feel like I'm living a very bad dream, and I am keeping everything I have crossed that my other two dogs are clear!.

Zoey is a Black Russian Terrier (BRT) there are pics of her in my album.

We have two BRT's and our Razz a Yorkie, plus a Maine coone Cat.
