| ![]() Last week Seymour (pom) jumped off the loveseat in my office and started screaming. Jim and I rushed in and she was limping. He felt of the leg and nothing felt broken so we thought he might have sprained it. Later that night he was walking on it as usual. We kept a watch the next few days. When someone came in he was his usual jumping self on all 4 legs. Then he would pick up his left back leg. He would alternate whether or not he held the leg up. We took him to the vet and she says it's his knee. It is going in and out of place. He is now on supplements. Jim massaged his knee and felt it slip back into place. So we have been lifting him up and down places. He is a regular diva so he might be milking it some. We have a ramp onto our bed. If he thinks we are asleep he will go up and down it, but if he hears us turn over or talk, he will sit and whine till we pick him up. It seems if not one thing then another. Any suggestions to make him more comfortable?

| ![]() supplements will help for sure. I would invest in some stairs and ramps from this point on. Both of mine have knee issues and other than sit on top of them, this is a good alternative to keep them from jumping up and down. Hope your little one feels better soon.

| ![]() Thanks all. He has his spells where he keeps the leg up. Then other times he will be bouncing after the other dogs. We had gotten supplements for Gypsy due to her arthitis in her hips and we have been giving him one too when we give Gypsy hers. When we first got Gypsy dh made a ramp for the bottom of our bed so he does use it. When he really does not feel good, he whines to be put on the bed. I think next weekend he has another vet appt. It is very hard to keep a pom still. He is the most active of our dogs.

| ![]() There are many threads on Luxating patellas. You can search the forum and find some good information on it.... Sometimes surgery is required to fix it, depending on how bad it is (there are different "grades" of luxating patella). Shelby had to have the surgery a few years ago.... it was successful. The surgery was done by an Orthopedic Vet who was very experienced with the surgery..... it was recommended by many here on YT to find a "specialist" to do the surgery, I was glad that I did.

| ![]() My honey jumped off our sofa and hurt her back leg.....and I was told to give her low dose non coated aspirin twice a day...it made a TON of difference...she felt so much better and was walking normal within a few days... you can safely give him 10 mg. per pound twice a day. I crushed it and added it with her soft food....to get her to eat it. Hope he feels better soon.

| ![]() Poor Seymour. I hope he's feeling better. It's so hard to keep them from jumping around. Maybe glucosamine chondroition will help. Feel better Seymour!! |
