| Little kitties died for an unknown reason It happened for the second time that mother cat gave birth and after a week her kitties died for an unknown reason...I'm wondering why? Do you have any idea about it or do you know any case like this? |

| It really is very hard to know unless you consult your vet. There could be a lot of scenarios too. You didn't really provide a lot of information, so I will give you some of my thoughts, but like I said only your vet can really tell you. If your momma and kittens are outdoors, or if you have more than one tom cat in the house, a tom cat will kill kittens if they are not his. There are usually signs of violence though. Also, momma just may not be a very good mother. This sounds harsh, but it is quite common in cats. She may not have enough milk, or she may not be keeping the kittens warm enough, leaving them too long, or basically abandoning them. You can look up "fading kitten syndrome." Aside from this I don't have any other help for you, but after two lost litters I would recommend the mother be spayed. Even if she is trying to be a good momma but for some other reason she loses her litter, they do get depressed and grieve (IMO) and it is difficult on them physically. I am sorry.
