Donating YT 11K Club Member | I put my betta with other fish I've had my betta fish 'Midnight'(causes he's dark blue) for like 6 mos or so...I finally upgraded him to a bigger tank and he really likes it. I thought i should get him some friends so i got a little guppie fish and this little fish that is orange with black stripes..i dont know the name but they are both fresh water fish like the betta and they said at the petstore it's fine to put them all together. So is it okay? Because the orange fish looks like it's hiding from midnight and looks scared.lol...i dont want them to fight or kill eachother. So far midnight hasnt done anything to them...just swimming around, checking them out.

| That I remember it's fine to put them with other fish just not another Betta Fighting Fish.

| it's ok to put them together, i had a tank filled with different types, started with goldfish and ended up with all kinds. I believe the orange with stripes could be a clown loach, they are fun to watch if you have 3 or more. Just don't put guppies (the ones with fan tails) together with a irridescent shark (one of my sharks ate the guppie ) My goldfish, which i thought would die within days ended up surviving for 1 yr!) Have fun with you fishies, it can get addictive! lol

| Glad to know I am not the only one who likes her Betta Fish. I have had mine for a couple of years now. It's funny because all my friends come over and say "you STILL have that fish" lol. Mine is also blue and that also happens to be his name. Maybe I will get him bigger living quarters and some friends too.lol Let me know how it goes. |

| My betta tried to attack my other fish that was smaller then him. He ended up killing him =( I had to take him out and just leave him by himself.

| Onely one male to a tank though I always thought you couldn't mix bettas with other fish. But I looked it up and it seems you can. Here are some tidbits of advice: Betta Compatibility with other Fish

| He will most likely be okay. The only thing you have to be careful about is putting a betta in with another fish with flowing tails. It could confuse it with another betta and fight. I have however put a betta in my 125 gal aquarium with other tropical fish small and very large and he was fine

| I used to put my betta fish in a large clear vase and get a water plant and let the roots hang in the vase. He would swim in and out of the roots it was cool to watch. It also looked pretty with the green plant coming out of it.
