| Bender's favorite horses Here are pictures of my pet seahorses. They are pretty cool to watch, but Bender gets jealous if I look at them too long, lol. Anyone else have seahorses or own a saltwater tank? Hope I can post this here. |

| I love them, I want a salt water tank so bad, but everyone has told me how hard they are so I haven't done it. Are they really that bad, please say no, but I have a feeling they are.

| I have two of them, and they do change color--but not by much though. I think it depends on the actual species of seahorses that you actually have. After talking with people on saltwater forum I have come to believe they are of the Kuda variety- Or atleast a hybrid. Or as some may say on these forums a "designer" seahorse, lol. Kuda's do tend to stay yellow even if their surroundings change. The orange one will turn whiter when he is relaxed or about to go to sleep. The rim of his back and stomach also darkens, sometimes it even turns black. But when he is active and/or eating, he brights up to an orange color with a yellow mouth. The yellow one stays that bright yellow color. Only darkening at the edges every now and then. I personally do not believe that keeping a saltwater tank is hard. If you research and think before you take action, I'm sure you'll do fine. Just like keeping a yorkie. 3 months ago, I couldn't tell you anything about keeping a dog. But now I am giving advice to other dog owners. It does get expen$ive though. You can curve this by knowing what you keep and do not need, but there is something about a small reef tank that can get really addicting. lol. Seahorses, on the other hand, are not for first time fish hobbyist. |
