| A.J has a gas problem I have been feeding Merricks for quite some time now to both A.J and KaCee. They both love it but it is giving A.J terrible gas! I mean he can clear the room it's so bad. I really like Merricks but I'm wondering if I need to change them to something else? Obviously something isn't agreeing with A.J, but what? Any thoughts, input or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Senior Yorkie Talker | My Golden Retriever (she is my Yorkie's "red mama" lol) had terrible gas and I saw on "It's Me or the Dog" that you can give them yogurt just plain old regular yogurt, I started giving her yogurt like a tablespoon or two with her food each feeding (she's a big girl 110 pounds) and the gas went away after a few days. Also she LOVES the yogurt! Pretty cheap fix in my book, you might give it a try.....I give my Yorkie about a teaspoon with her food and she gobbles it up btw (she weighs about 6 pounds). Good luck!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Poor baby...has it recently started? Which of the merricks are you giving him? The yogurt is a good way to soothe that tummy. But definitely think of changing the food. Might just need to change to a different flavor of the merricks. My sister's dog does well on the Turducken but when it comes to any of the other flavors it upsets his tummy.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Yeah then give him the yogurt and then try a different food. That gas when it's that horrible has to hurt them something awful...plus we get noxious poisoning from the smell

| I'm going to pick some yogurt up on my way home from work tonight so we'll give that a try. Do you have any suggestions for a new food to try?

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Any one of the upper tier foods. I think there is a sticky in the nutrition section. I am not sure what you will find locally by you. Just remember to transition him slowly especially as his tummy is giving him fits already. The plain yogurt will help a lot to balance his tummy out.

| My Chipper has a major problem with gas. One teaspoon of yogurt most certainly helped. I make sure that I get plain organic yogurt that doesn't have any additives. Joanne
