I love cats, but don't have one. These three sure are cuties. If you have allergies, you could probably tolerate a Devon Rex. They don't have "fur" like other cats and are supposed to be hypoallergenic. I'd love to have one!

Well Welcome to the family Jack. You are a cutie. We don't have cats but with a story like this I think its wonderful you are keeping one. How lucky were those kittens. Good luck and we will get to see more pics as Jack is growing up.

How cute! We have a new baby kitten also. Her name is Princess and shes black with white paws and belly. They sure are cute when they are little

I don't know how to say this. I've been putting off updating this thread all morning. This morning, I went to wake the kitties to feed them and Jack was unresponsive and barely breathing. Poor little guy couldn't even hold his head up. We rushed him to the vet, who did everything she could, but little Jack didn't make it. The vet was crying when she told us. We were just there on Friday and she said they were all doing great. He was fine all day yesterday and ate well and played fine just before bed last night. The vet said it was probably an infection and there was nothing we could have done.

Brendon and I are completely heartbroken. Little Jack some how captured both our hearts more than we ever would have thought possible. We had planned a future with him, bought him toys, a scratching post, litter, and all the kitty necessities. We never thought he'd be gone this soon at such a tender age and so suddenly.

The girls are doing fine right now, but we are still grieving the loss of our active, adventurous, loving little guy. I love the girls, but it just isn't the same. I've never lost a pet before and it's breaking my heart. I can't think of him without crying all over again.

The vet is worried that the girls might have an infection as well so they are on immune building vitamins. Please pray that they are both okay. I can't imagine going through this again.

Angie and Brendon ~ I just saw your post and I'm in tears. I'm so, so sorry for the loss of Jack. It's so sudden and so sad. I'll have your family in my prayers.

I'll also be praying that his sisters are OK. Thank you for saving his life so he could enjoy the time he had here.

Angie...I am so heartbroken for both of you. But please know that in Jack's short time that he was with you, he was loved and he felt that. You found them for a reason and maybe that is why, so that he would know love before he passed away.

I am so sorry you lost Jack. I know your heart must be hurting real bad.
Prayer's coming the two little girls will be safe from whatever happened
to their brother.
Your wonderful people to give these three a home when it was needed.
He passed being loved. Remember that.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts. Even though Jack's time with us was short, he will remain in our hearts forever. It will be a long time before I'll be able to think of him without tears. He had such a tough life, but he was still the sweetest, most cuddly, playful little guy. I would've given anything to have been able to help him. He deserved so much more...
