| What about a FRENCH bulldog? They are smaller and very cute, I think. That might be a good mix with a Yorkie. Anyone with Frenchie experience? |

| I don't know a thing about french bulldogs. Maybe you should ask this question in a new thread. You'll probably get more responses. Good lock with your dog search!

Oh, I am not looking for another dog. I thought the person who started this thread might want to look at Frenchies instead. | |

| I am new to the board...(1st post) but have been reading post and "lurking" for a while.... I have 2 english bulldogs and 1 yorkie (all spayed females). The yorkie is a rescued yorkie that I found in the middle of a busy highway about 4 months ago. I located the owner and she said that she no longer wanted the dog and if I could give her a better home to take her...she had been living outside and was a mess. Needless to say, We LOVE her! She is such a delight! I am hooked on Yorkies now. 1 of my bulldogs, Georgia (who is 7 now) is very lazy and laid back. The only thing that excites her is food and going for a ride. She does not pay any attention to other dogs, cats, etc. She also does not meet a stranger. The other, Spunky, is the complete opposite. Spunky, who is 2 now, is into anything and everything. Loves to bark in a mean way at other dogs and then hides behind our legs. She wants to play all the time, non-stop. She also loves to chew on things...anything. It is true about the shedding and the gas. One would think they would be bald by the amount of hair they shed. I personally do not have a problem with the slobber though. Georgia gets along with "Lucky" (Yorkie). She basically does not pay her any attention. Lucky tries to play with her but she just looks at her....Spunky on the other hand will play with Lucky. Sometimes it is too rough and I would never leave them alone together. Spunky likes to hit or box at you with her paws and the other day she knocked lucky off the bed with 1 swat of the paw....The bulldogs do not realize they are not "lap dogs" and don't realize how strong they are. I will personally never purchase any other breed other than a Yorkie or English bulldog....they are simply the best! But, that is my personal opinion....like someone else said, you either LOVE them or HATE them.... |
