| Sick but Smart! Hello everyone! I'm rather new to YT and don't have a yorkie of my own, yet. I'm hoping to get a puppy in August, I'm visiting the breeder in a few weeks to make my decision. (Just the wait to physically visit is killing me, I can only image the wait to get her!) But in the mean time I do have a poodle back at home that I have a bittersweet story to share about her. I grew up with poodles, loving every moment of their craziness. Our older poodle, Dotty, passed away a few months ago and it's been an adjustment for everyone, including our other dog, Sherry. Well it used to always be Dotty, the intelligent but evil one and Sherry, the adorable and loving but not the sharpest crayon in the box. Well, Sherry surprised everyone! My Mom called and told me that Sherry was really sick, she'd thrown up all night. But the amazing part of the story is that my Mom realized this only because Sherry kept disappearing in to the bathroom. My parents bedroom is carpeted but their bathroom and the connecting hallway are all tiled. Whenever Sherry would get sick my Mom would always rush her to a tiled area. Well the little sneak, even as miserable as she was feeling, took herself! to the tiled bathroom when she knew she was going to throw up--each and every time! After a trip to the vets, an exam and an x-ray later, she apparently ate a liche nut and caused damage to herself when her body tried processing it through and out. She's all backed up and won't eat any food and the little my Mom could get her to eat she couldn't keep down. (And this is the dog that loves food like it's going out of style. We timed her, she ate her entire bowl of food in 1 minute and 20 seconds, no burping-no gulping, just an efficient white food eating machine!) Fearing the vet couldn't really do much if she had another visit, my Mom decided to treat her like she would treat me if I were sick. Two days of some home cooked food and she's back on track to feeling better! So I'm terribly sorry and upset that she's sick but we're all in a little bit of awe that she knew enough to go in to the tiled bathroom! -Vicky |

| That was such a sweet post about Sherry. You also have a very intelligent mother. Glad that Sherry is back on track. It is sure worrisome when our furbabies are sick. I have one that always goes into the farthest corner of a room if he has to throw up. It's interesting how they deal with things. Hope you find the perfect little furbaby that grabs your heart.
