| Unsure of what to do? Last night while DH and I were playing with our golden retriever Jordan we flipped her on her back to give her a belly rub and noticed two sores on her belly. One seemed kind of open and in the process of healing and the other just looked red and inflamed but not open. We put some neosporin on it last night, but I was wondering if there is anything else we can do. I'd hate to take her to the vet for him to just tell me to put neosporin on it till it heals! Thanks in advance for any advice! |

| Here are pics These are the best I could get, the sores already look better from last night, but I'm still concerned. Sorry, the last picture is pretty fuzzy...I really need a new camera. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | judging from the first picture that sore in the middle looks bad and quite open. I'd have that checked out. she might need antibiotics to help clear this up. plus she might have an infection or fungus.

| I agree you don't want an infection to spread

| Thank you for the advice. DH and I are arranging a trip to the vet right now. I hope he can get off work to help me take her. I have a small car and I'm not sure I could handle her in the car on my own. Funny thing is tomorrow we are planning on buying her a safety belt for the car! Too late! Well wish us luck and I'll let you know what we find out. |

| Okay sorry I didn't post sooner! The vet said it's just a cut, probably from the brush around our house or we found some glass outside our house...someone broke one of our windows out I'm sure Jordan must have found it before we did. We'll be watching her much more closely from now on. The vet just suggested keeping it clean and putting neosporin on it until it's completely healed. Already the wound is closing and looking so much better. I thank you so much for your concern and advice. It made me feel a lot better to take her to the vet! |
