| My dad's peekapoo is homeless... Admin, if this is in the wrong place, or not allowed please move. Thanks. My sister just contacted me. She recently placed my father in a home and is trying to find families for his two dogs. She's found a home for the corgi, but there is a 3 year old peekapoo who needs a furever family too. My sis is not an animal lover, so she contacted me thinking that I might know someone. I've suggested she get it into rescue, but in the meantime, I know there are a lot of great people here who might want to give this little one a second chance at life. If so, send me a pm.

| A little more info...(just got off the phone with my sister) Shadow is a small dog, more poodle than peekanese. He is silver/black/grey and has been spoiled to death. Current on all shots, etc. He's been loved, but cared for by an older man who was not always able to get him outside when he needed. He will need a little work on house training, but is close. This little one has never been away from his "daddy" but has now spent the last 1-1/2 weeks in a kennel. Sis has contacted a couple of local (no-kill) rescues (western pa) but both were full and not taking any "owner-surrendered pets". I'm going to start contacting additional rescues today, but it sounds like this little guy is scared and lonely. If we can't find a family or rescue for him soon, I will foster him here... If you know anyone who may be interested (can't ship in the cold) in providing a wonderful home for this little homeless one, let me know.

| Why has he been kept in a kennel recently? Please post this on the Rescue forum. Sounds like this little guy is adorable and he needs a better situation than what he is in now for sure. I'm sure a YT member would be interested. Sorry about your dad. |

| Thanks. Well it's a long story. My sister is not a dog person, so when she got my father situated, she just took the dogs to a kennel and started looking for a home. She didn't think to contact me until last night (a week and a half in to this) Since I found out, I've been emailing/calling rescues, gathering info about this furkid, and contacting everyone I know who might help. But its hard to find a place for a mixed breed in a no kill rescue. They are all so full. He will NOT end up in a kill shelter though. If nothing turns up soon, I will certainly foster this little one til he finds a home....but thought before we transported him here (I'm several hours away by car) if I could find someone who wanted him or find a rescue that would take him, he'd be better off. (Only having to be transported once). It breaks my heart thinking about him in a kennel though, so sis and I have already made plans to get him here to me if nothing looks promising soon. I know that he has spent sometime around other family members children, he seems to be good with them, although he has not been raised with kids. I need to contact admin and find out if its okay to put this in the rescue forum. He's not a yorkie, afterall.

| My childhood dog was a peekapoo, he was the sweetest dog ever he lived to be 14 years old. Good luck in finding this little guy a forever home

| I'm so sorry I wish that I could help, but I'm "at capacity" here. I believe this member has been looking for a rescue for quite some time, and might be open to other small dogs besides yorkies if I remember correctly! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=25591 I hope you find that precious baby a home! |
