Beautiful, sunny day today with no winds. High to be mid 50's. So far I am loving this winter.

Another beautiful day of low 50's, rest of this week to be high 50's but rain. I'll take the rain over snow. Groundhog got his months mixed up lol.

WOW, I'm surrounded by very old and tall oak trees maybe 150' tall, winds that high sounds like a locomotive coming through the woods, scares me death when we get high gusts.

I used t have a tree in my back yard that was leaning at a 45 degree angle because of the way the local energy cut it for the last 15 years. They kept trimming one side because that is where the wires were and the tree kept leaning the other way. 3 years ago after the last trim I complained that because of what they did my house was in danger. The tree was probably 70 feet tall and it was only 60 feet from my house. At first the trimming company said I would have to take that up with the energy company because they just followed their instructions. When I pointed out that "I was just following instructions" would not give them protection from liability if the house was damaged (or people were hurt) they called me back two days later and said they would cut the tree down free of charge. I hated that tree and had gotten quotes of $2k to cut it down so I gladly accepted their offer.

They’ve done the same to my crimsons maple. I’ve not cut it down though

Absolutely not. Huge branches canopy my roof, I hate to have them trimmed, summer my house would be hot as hell, so I chance it. Back yard also canopied with tress, offers protection from prey birds and lots of shade. Bout 12 years ago, past my property line, an entire tree in the woods fell, took out my shed. I had to buy a precut shed, some friends but that up.
