Aaaah! Thank you both! :) Just the 2 of us went to the good old Hare + Hounds with Harry and Luka (they get on brilliantly, thank goodness!)...it was packed! We couldn't even reserve our favourite table next to the fire! Oh I do love girlie chats!! :D x |
Enjoying my warm house while it is raining outside!:) |
Enjoying a pleasant, breezy evening here in North Texas. Tibbe has come alive and is racing about the house, playing with his Flossie Bone. He loves Spring-like and Fall-like weather when there is change in the air. Seems to envigorate him. |

Oh, I'm excited! The other series I got to see last year and hadn't ever seen the first UD. Now a third one coming!!! Wonderful news. I so enjoyed last year's mini-series. Of course, I love Downton Abbey, too. Can't wait for third series of it! Did you see that some of the stars of DA were at this past week's State Dinner at the White House? |

Now, tonights UD (starring Ed Stoppard and Keeley Hawes)...Mr. Pritchard finds romance at the annual servants ball, prompting him to wonder if there is more to life than service. Hallam and Persie continue their risky affair...Now, there's a cliff-hanger for you!!! :D ;) x |
I'm a happy woman! There is more UD in my future. Is the Forsyte Saga really really good, too? Is it worth buying? |
I'm so glad you're happy! :) It's very difficult to recommend stuff, isn't it - we're all so different. And The Forsythe Saga was so many years ago, it's going to look very dated (even though period dramas always do, to a certain extent?!). It's been many years since I've watched it, but used to love it then. If you do decide to buy it, please make sure you get the original version - go on, treat yourself...!!! :D (I think it had Susan Hampshire and Nyree Dawn Porter in?) |
Original version - you mean starring the old stars you mentioned? Is there a newer version not so good? |
Yes, my mum's seen the newer version and said it wasn't worth watching...she maintains stick to the old version with Susan and Nyree!! ;) :D |
Oh, thank you for the tip. I shall be sure to get the original one. |

Showing Jeanie my prize Isn't he the cutest :) |
LOL i forgot to include the pic 1 Attachment(s) I will be ok :)..Peter Playpal excites me |
Oh, Lord, what a handsome little guy! He's just a beauty and you got a good one with good hair in the front. Some of that manufacturer's boys had such short hair in the front it was distracting. Love his outfit. He should make a wonderful escort for your Patti's and Miss Shirley! I am currently wishing I had a blonde, blue-eyed version of this boy. They are pretty rare right now - or the last time I looked. |
Jeanie i seen a blond/blue eyed a while back, but he looked like his hair had been cut to short in front as you described...I will watch for you to :D I love my boy he is so handsome in his uniform |

Does your boy have the dreaded left leg problem, causing him to list to the left as so many of the repro's do? All mine have it, some not as bad as the others. |
Jeanie his legs/feet seem to be fine, he was made by Ideal 1950/60 era I have the boy from Danbury mint to |
Ohhhhh! I thought that was an Ashton-Drake repro! All I was saying about the blonde Peter was almost getting one was while the AD repro editions were still offered. He looks so like mine I thought he was AD. So that is an original Ideal Peter? With the dark hair? Rare! Oh, WOW! Just WOW! He looks to be in extremely great condition for an Ideal. The Ideal Peter is really the one I want but until recently - until I got Shirley - I wouldn't let myself pay that kind of money for a doll. Now I will so probably closer to Easter, I will be in the market for a Peter - either a blonde Ashton-Drake repro or an original Ideal - which, of course, does not have the left leg issues. Just the repro's tend to have that. |
I will post you a pic tomorrow of the two together :) i love them both |
can't wait! |
