Waiting for breakfast. Tibbe is having his right now. |
I had a ham/biscuit |
Just scarfed a Little Debbie Honey Bun - about 10 bites of good - and then they are gone. So little! And coffee. The house is warm now and sun coming through the windows and I've nothing I have to do today, though there is plenty I should do. Maybe Tibbe and I will just hang out in the den today and be real slackers. |
sounds good to me |
Oh, it was! Advantage of temporary retirement. Fridays at work used to be so hectic that by Friday night I was pretty much done. Now some Fridays I get to do nothing if I want! I used to think I would just hate retirement after a while but it's quite nice most of the time. |
I am freezing it is cold & raining today |
YTing in the game section. About to make fresh chocolate chip muffins. |

Putting Easter decorations away. I don't think I will ever spread a lot of Easter grass on the floor again, no matter how cute the doll looks standing in it! |
LOL she was a beauty :) |
I'm leaving her here in the den in that outfit until it is time to dress her patriotically for Memorial Day. She just looks like a breath of Springtime. I sure was glad to learn that those Danbury Mint outfit subscription package they sold with that doll fit the Ideal Shirley, if slightly high-waisted. But back in the 30's, a lot of little girls' dresses looked high-waisted to me. |
I love the DM Shirley she has such a happy smile.. |
She does. And I love her proportions - she's very nicely sculpted as to length of arms and legs to body, size of head, etc. The Ideal Shirley has such large, long arms and short, small legs to her body and head. Ideal ST is still my favorite overall though as her face is so much more animated looking and her eyes are much more realistic looking to me - that hazel color instead of the more dead brown look of the DM's eyes. And, of course, the Ideal ST was my first real wanted collectible doll when I started doll collecting back in '81. If you could find one back then, they usually weren't in very good shape and started at $600.00 - $800.00. So I have just wanted wanted that doll for so long and I had actually never seen a good one in person - even at doll shows or when I went to look at one for sale in the area - in as good shape as the one I got. Local ladies with good ones just didn't offer them for sale. So when I got my DM ST, I was thrilled because overall she was so pretty especially compared to the Love, Dreams and Whatever that other one was called that was kind of orange colored. And then the DM ST came with all of those clothes you could get every other month or so which was a nice plus. Have you seen the DM ST Stand Up & Cheer dress? It is empire waisted, very short and full and just perfectly done! I've never even put it on one of my dolls yet as I'm waiting for just the right moment to do that. It is done in a light organdy-like fabric and light and fluffy with a huge skirt, attached petticoat, matching bow and comes with white shoes and socks. Best one of those dresses I've ever seen offered for sale. |
It sounds beautiful :) |
It is the best I've seen. I can't wait to dress her in it. |
I can't wait to see her |
Playing catch up but really need to spring clean. |
