| I ban Dyan just to add in Woolworths and there was an era that Kmart was a respectable place to shop. |

| Mark i remember F W Woolworth's five & dime very well, in later years we had a Ben Franklin five and dime. As a child i grew up in the country and can remember riding the Greyhound bus with my mom to go and shop in these stores we sometimes had lunch at the Woolworth lunch counter. precious memories

| I ban Dyan... I only remember our Woolworths in downtown Seattle, one whole wall was their lunch counter.... we'd take a city bus to get there... We had a Fuji's 10 cent store about a mile from the house, easy walk... picked up stuff to make butterfly nets, small toys, see stuff made in Japan... this was the era they really only imported trinkets from Japan, the electronics came much later. Really liked the old couple in there, Fuji's. Later, we had the first covered shopping mall in the US, Northgate... it used to rain a bit more than now. LOL we took a city bus to that also. |
