So Relieved!!! I am finally debt free!
 
I am so happy, today i paid the full balance on my credit card that i owed!! Now i owe $0, WOOHOO!!! I couldn't wait for this day to come, now i feel so relieved that i don't owe anything, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders! My freshman yr of college i got my first credit card and used it like crazy thinking i could pay it off real quick...YEA RIGHT! It took work! I went from owing $5,000 to $2,500 and now 2 yrs later don't owe anything! I go to school full time so it's hard to work full time as well, and it's hard to focus in school when i work that's why it took so long to pay it. Now i need to get a job quick so i can start saving up, i already have a little saved up too but i am not using it at all! lol I've learned my lesson, not to spend like i have a money tree cause i don't! :rolleyes: Wish me luck on gettting a job soon so i can spend on the babies, and hopefully buy my first car! And please pray for me that i don't use my CC at all unless i have the money to pay it the following week! :D

Congrats girl! That's a BIGG accomplishment! You deserve a (cheap) reward! haha I can't wait till the day when I can say that same :)

i'll be right behind you, i have three more credit cards to do, and a family loan for taxes my hubby owed, i figured in about 8 more months for me...
But Congrats to you !!!!!!!!
I can't wait for that day,, it's going to feel great !!!!!!

ps.. cut up them credit cards, IF YOU CAN'T PAY CASH FOR IT, THEN YOU DON'T NEED IT... my grandmother always said that,,,, and i cut up all mine, i have one in my safe and it's for emergencies only !!!!!!!!

Yaaaay!! I know exaclty how you feel. I paid mine off last month - and I DID cut them up afterwards. Lol, I suggest you do the same...Congratulations

Congratulations and I really do hope you have learned your lesson. Now, the best thing for you to do is cut that THING up and never get another one. It's not a good thing to have at all. Just use your debet card for what you really need. Better than writing checks.

Really? Does that work for you? I only have one Credit card, I just want to have it for emergencies and like to shop online cause i do that sometimes, maybe i should put it in my freezer like someone suggested one time! I don't wanna cut it up incase of an emergency and anyway they said i can't use it yet until middle of December so im good for now! :)

Ohh im sorry about those student loans, my bf has those too and he will have to pay them when he finishes college. My mom and dad pay for my college cause they never want me to get student loans but that is only for my bachelors, i plan to go to med school and to do that i will really have to take out loans so i will know how you feel in a couple of years! :( Sucks for me, med school is sooo expensive!

I didn't realize that babies were so expensive !!! boy being a mom woke me up to a whole new world, diapers, formula, endless doctors visits, clothes, i had to charge most of the things on my charge cards were for the Baby not me, i didn't spend the money foolishly, plus my boy grew so fast,, he's 7 months and in 24 months clothes i had to get him all new clothes for winter and there not cheep... so i learned my lesson too, i buy him some stuff every pay and don't wait to the last min. i usually go to JC penneys they have sales all the time on baby clothes.... and i download alot of coupons for diapers and babyfood... i just can't wait till i can say that... it's going to be sooo nice !!!

Thnks so much! I would cut it up if i had more that one but i only have that one and need it for emergencies. What do you use for emergencies? I also have a debit card, i think those are good cause you can just spend how much you have on it and can't borrow from it

Thanks! omg i really have! My mom asked me that, she was like do you know now not to use your card unless you have the money to pay it full? I was like yes mom TRUST ME!! I know what it is to have debt and at such a young age, i told myself i will never let it happen again! It was such a dreadful feeling knowing that i owed! Yea now i have my debit card that i will keep adding money to when i get a job:)

I do use my debit card and thats it - I find its better that way. I keep close track on whats in my accounts and I know I cant spend over that. I kinda put myself on a financial diet lol Im 25 and dont want to have to work until im like a 100 - so I save up a certain amount each week and put it in a savings account that I cant withdraw from. Im good with financial stuff -so if you need any advice/tips just PM me!

Thanks Shana! Don't worry, i was envious too of those that had no debt when i did! I know just how it feels!

Self control !!!! you can do it.. i have one credit card like i said i have it locked up in my safe for emergencies only.... Take a good look on your credit card statement and tell me one thing on there that you REALLY needed !!!! i couldn't find one thing on mine (before baby), i use to just buy clothes, shoes, stuff that's still hanging in my closet cause i don't go out anymore cause of the baby... i was just bored on the weekends and went shopping to go shopping....

Oh boy, my brother and his gf are going to be in the same boat as you! They just had a baby girl yesterday, their first baby ever and my first niece! They both have good jobs but they are going to be paying so much for her, and their condo and their cars, all of that so im going to be praying for them and all those bills! And what sucks is that babies grow so fast so all the money you spend on clothes, they will only use for a short amount of time and you have to keep buying everytime they grow lol So yea its good to buy less expensive baby clothes like you do since they outgrow it so fast. Oh that's great, thanks so much! I think i am going to start doing like a financial journal or something where i write down what i buy, how much i make when i get a job, and keep it all organized. What do you suggest?

Me and my husand do have good jobs, we just got into debt. really fast. with all the extras with a baby we didn't plan on, like bigger car seats, him growing so fast, jumeroo's, walkers, doctor's visits at $20. a visit. medicine...private baby sitter, the list goes on...

Yea i know, none of the stuff i really needed! Most of the stuff i bought were for the dogs when i first got them cause i had nothing! I wasted on carriers, clothes, shoes etc. ! Now they have plenty of stuff and i will only buy clothes and little things if i have the money. All the other stuff i spent on were clothes for me, shoes, hair appointments, stuff like that. Oh and one time i bought my mom a $400 foot massager for xmas which she LOVES! So i guess that was worth it lol That was last Xmas...im really going to budget my money this time! I'm sure she will understand if i only get her a card this yr, ill be like mom that gift is to last a couple years lol
