Good for you!!! I can't wait until I'm debt free - I'm almost there! The car will be paid off in Feb. and then I have to finish my student loan off. Trust me, it's easy to fight the urge to use the card after you go through this process! Because you never want to do it again!!!

Me and my husand do have good jobs, we just got into debt. really fast. with all the extras with a baby we didn't plan on, like bigger car seats, him growing so fast, jumeroo's, walkers, doctor's visits at $20. a visit. medicine...private baby sitter, the list goes on...
Thanks i will def. tell them! Beechnut is a good brand too, i used to feed the dogs that sometimes cause it's all natural.

Aww thank you Des, you are sweet:) I think i might go try look for a job today, if not Friday cause it's rainy and muggy outside. I might do waitressing again cause the tips were grrreat or bartending, something like that. My bf wants me to work in Abercrombie with him but idk about that, i don't really like doing retail.

lol yea i know but it is a great massager, i just really wanted to get her something nice and useful cause she's a nurse and always on her feet all day. I think it's the most expensive thing i've bought her so far, but she really loves it and uses it a lot so im happy.

very much so, they should never give an 18 yo a credit card, well i ended up with three now im 25 and in so much debt with my car payment, rent, credit cards urrrgggh!! i shouldnt blame them it was my fault but i think they take advantage, using interest rates like 23% on young customers:mad: there should be a stricter law about that IMO

Thanks! You don't have a long way to go, you will get there! And yes it def. is sooo easy to fight the urge after all i went thru lol at least i hope so

Yeah we've paid off like at least $40K and we have less than $10K to go, so this is the easy part :D It was HARD at first, but I recommend it to anyone!

I completely agree with you! I know it's our faults but they want us to get into debt:( I got so many credit card app. in the mail as soon as i turned 18, good thing i only got 1! If not i prob. would have had more debt cause i went up to my limit! :eek: No more credit cards for me! Wishing you the best of luck to pay those bills. :thumbup:

What I do is :
I get all of my bills together and what dates and the amounts that they are due
Then the amount I make at work after taxes
Gas money
Food
Basically make a list of the credits and debits you would need to make every month
I always leave atleast $50 for incidentals that may happen
So basically you're making a financial journal - it really helps
Whatever is left after that I put in the savings account - every penny counts!

Congrats to you. wow I cant wait until we are debt free. My children are all grown and now live on their own and are doing good, Me and Hubby was doing great until 3 years ago when I hurt my back. So Im not able to work now. So with my half of the bill money not coming in we have had to charge here and there to just get by. Its hard and very depressing after never once in our lifes haveing any back debt or ever having to charge and then to charge to just get by. But we are working on it and have for the last two years. In two months we will have our cars paid off and then will be able to start paying down the credit cards. its going to take us a while and it is hard. not being able to spend any thing for the heck of it has been very hard.Thats why you dont see me buying any thing here . But we get by. and I hope in a year or so I can say we are not dept free. So again congrats too you. :thumbup:

What you can do to, when you get your job, i just did this where i work, i got one big credit card out of the way that was about 400.00 i was paying a month, i have a savings account and i have payroll taking 100.00 per pay out of my check and putting it in my savings account... that's going to help build it back up again, i took to much out of it this year...

Thats the same way I am. I go shopping just to go shopping. So right now Josh and I have set a limit to 25 dollars earch a week to go shopping with. Then the other down fall that I have is eating out, which I want to go do now but I can I have already went over my 10 budget for the week.

oh i miss going out to eat, it's funny we go to the foster house on Sunday's -maybe once a month from 4-8 they have pittsburgh sandwiches there buy one get one free.... :D

wow that's great! It makes it seem like mine was nothing, lol omg i couldn't imagine having to owe like $40k but i know when i get a house i will have to

I see. When i get my job i am going to put an amount aside every time i get paid and have a limit to how much i can spend from it. I want to start saving for my future house now!:D

Aww thanks so much! I'm sorry you hurt your back :( It is very hard, and hard to stay motivated. Every time i see something for sale here i just want to buy it lol its hard to fight the urge but you can do it! I hope you get it paid off soon:) I know you can

Yeah but that was part of a 2nd mortgage, a car loan we paid down, a ton of medical debt AND the credit card debt. We aren't big shoppers either - some of it was Christmas presents and going out to dinner but a lot was just poor budgeting and planning. We had ourselves convinced that we would make more money later. My husband has a tendency to spend the same $500 that he thinks is coming 3 times, then it never comes or it comes 3 months later. The hardest part has been convincing him that we can only spend what we make. The next challenge will be convincing him it's worthwhile to SAVE some money.

Hey, I'm in the shoes you were in! I'm so stressed about it too....can you give me any tips and/or advice. I want to get out of debt so bad but, like you said I'm going to school full time and can only work part time. I'm looking into getting a night job too.
