Donating YT 14K Club Member | ![]() I use Sony Mavica CD-350 3.2 mega pixels. When I was shopping for a camera, I wanted one that used a disc instead of the stick. I love my camera and wouldn't trade it for the world!! You can even record a mini-movie on it. Discs aren't that expensive...around $10 for 25 discs which I get off of eBay. Got my camera off of there too brand new in box for under $300 shipping included.

| ![]() If you want to do some reading up on what people think about cameras, the best place to do so is at http://dpreview.com. For the Canon camera that you're considering, visit the "Canon Talk" forum --- Forums -> Canon Talk There is a comprehensive review of the SD500 http://dpreview.com/reviews/canonsd500/. There is a great feature there that will allow you to compare different cameras side-by-side. Its an awesome tool and pretty darned unique. Buying Guide -> Side-by-Side

| ![]() I just replaced my old digital camera( Sony Mavica) with a Kodak Dx7630. Love all the options and ease of use. At my age, teaching old dogs new tricks is not as easy as it use to be.

| ![]() StewiesMom, Is that the Canon Powershot SD 400 digital Elph Camera that you referred to? Please let me know. Thanks YT friends. I also will be looking for a small digital camera that I can take anywhere. I am not familiar with cameras, let alone computer stuff, so this thread has been helpful to me. Someone suggested buydig.com and if I looked it up correctly, this Canon Powershot SD 400 Elph is $344.00. I'll have to look at other websites and then try some Circuit City, Walmart, etc. Thanks again. ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |

| ![]() I don't see a point in getting an 8mp camera unless you want to blow your photos up to the size of a wall. I mean, 4mp and even 3.2 is fine for printing photos up to 11x14 (and sometimes larger). My camera is a year old. Its the Canon Elph SD200. I got it as a gift when it first came out and it was around 350 I believe. Its 3.4mp with a crappy zoom. That's the only thing I would change about it. Its very durable and has been dropped dozens of times. I don't trust those cheap plastic ones. My mom has an Olympus and I think its crap. The controls and options are not very user friendly. My Elph has minimal buttons and is simplified compared to other cameras in its class for ease of use. I'd recommend it to anyone.

| ![]() YorkieGirl, Sorry if I am cutting in here, but you've posted a thread that interests me too. Thanks. Was wondering since we have so many qualified members what their thoughts might be a better digital camera that is lightweight(to take everywhere), takes good quality pics(no reds in yorkie eyes, etc.), has good stability when you move your hands slightly the pic comes out good, and that the features are user friendly for some of us who wear glasses(I am near sighted, can't see close up). Oh, one other thing. That is easy to use for someone like me who is not all that computer literate(or camera knowledgeable for that matter). I know this is too much to ask. Money is not a factor. Many of you have been suggesting the Canon Powershot SD 400 Elph Camera. Would you suggest this one for someone like myself? So.......please tell me what you think would suit me? Thanks! ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |

| ![]() sorry Bella0722, I tried to just make a quick response to the thread and didn't specify the kind and why i love it. it is the cannon EOS 300D Rebel that I have. 6.3 megapixels ,auto and manual focus, program and manual exposure, JPEG and RAW file format, ISO range 100 - 1600, proprietary Lithium-Ion battery. Accepts interchangeable Canon EF lenses. I also have used a zoom len from one of my 35MM cameras and it works great. It is easy to use and the price has come down extremely since I bought mine. I'm no expert by any means but I do take a lot of pics of my yorkies and my grandson (when i travel to see him). I use a 512MB card so it hold gobs of pics.

| ![]() The reason why i want to get a canon rebel in the future is because I like very high resolution camera's for the things i will be taking pictures of. that a 3.2 megapixel camera will not work.. I don't know if you are familiar with Cars or anything, But i'm a car enthusiast and I love detailing me and my boyfriends cars.. and of course I LOVE taking pictures.. with high res.. and i cannot get the same quality with a 3.2 megapixel camera... i think a 5.0 would be fine.. but i think a 7 or 8 megapixel would be just right for the kind of quality i want. So sorry if i wanted to get a high resolution camera.. ![]() Last edited by Yorkie_GirL; 06-25-2005 at 07:32 PM. |
