I don't see a point in getting an 8mp camera unless you want to blow your photos up to the size of a wall. I mean, 4mp and even 3.2 is fine for printing photos up to 11x14 (and sometimes larger).

My camera is a year old. Its the Canon Elph SD200. I got it as a gift when it first came out and it was around 350 I believe. Its 3.4mp with a crappy zoom. That's the only thing I would change about it. Its very durable and has been dropped dozens of times. I don't trust those cheap plastic ones. My mom has an Olympus and I think its crap. The controls and options are not very user friendly.

My Elph has minimal buttons and is simplified compared to other cameras in its class for ease of use. I'd recommend it to anyone.
