Good for you. You must be so very proud of yourself and it's great your children are so supportive. You must feel and look wonderful. I do know what you mean about feeling guilty after eating something you wish you hadn't. That's exactally how I feel so it's just not worth eating it in the first place.Ithink it does take time to get to that point though. I'm almost at my goal so I'm not about to get discouraged over a little 1lb that I gained back but it sure does stink to gain after cheating only one time. I guess that's how you learn it dosen't pay to cheat. |
Great job girls! Love the support here. I'm still the same.:) |
I've been exercising everyday and eating healthy. I just have to exercise today! |
Finally...under 150 pounds again, 149 today!!! Now let's see if I can keep it up, I keep jumping around between 149 and 151, I think I need a boost, a little push in the right direction. I am confident, this can be done and I will do it. |
This thread is getting buried. Well eveyone I have reached my goal!;) 138 was it and that is what the scale said thing morning. Yipee, everything is getting alittle big and it feels great. Finally. Anything after this is icing on the cake. How are the rest of you doing? Hope your all doing as well or better than I. |
How exciting for you!! Good for you!!! I've been sick, so soon as I'm well, I'll get on the scale and see where things stand - Turkey day is coming and it's so hard to be good then. I need to be motivated to loose just the few pounds I have |
Woot for you!!! Big CONGRATS!   I have been ill for 3 weeks now--but: I had my yearly last week and according to their scale, my weight loss from last year is 15 lbs! Which is cool -- although---- I ballooned up and over where I had been last year by another 8 lbs along the trail ----soooooooooo That makes a 22 lb loss? Still have 30 to go...oy. |
Being sick does help with losing weight I'd have to say with everything that has happened in my life these past couple of years, the only positive thing is that I lost weight... No longer waistfull. |
Hi Carol congrats so proud of you....I reached my goal to of 135 and reached that and now the hard part is keeping it off for the holidays...even if I only gain a couple it will be easier to lose that in January then the 41 I just lost!! Yah everyone is doing great.....now is the time we need each others' support. Hang in there. |

Thank you it's not been too bad once I put my mind to it. Wow, 22lb loss! That' a real accomplishment. Good for you. That must be a real incentive for you to get to your goal. Congratulations and keep up the good work. |
I am still holding strong at 135, its tough, but well worth it, love shopping, which I hated before, and cannot wait to go christmas clothing shopping, yeah. Good luck to everyone, and keep up the good work, the end result is awesome. |

Thank you. Your right with the holidays coming it's so easy to loose track of eating! I will really keep a close watch on myself. You keep in mind all the weight you've already lost and the hard work you put into it. It's just not worth eating the extra calories, you know you'll feel guilty afterwards anyhow. I always do. |
I gave up pepsi's about 5 days ago and have lost 5lbs!!!! Man, I want one so badly. |

Good for you. Just think of all the sugar your no longer getting. 1lb a day, wow talk about incentive. Chew a piece of sugarless gum. Try not to think about it. Probably the caffine your missing. You can get withdrawals from that. Don't give in, hang in there. |
Take off Weight in 2008  - No one has posted here for at least 6 weeks!!  I have been so bad thru the holidays - I don't remember ever eating as many high calorie foods in a few weeks than this yr!! I have spent the last week on vacation at my mom's eating ham, sweet potatoes, lobster, chicken tortillas smothered in cheese sauce, sour cream & salsa. We've had pie, Birthday cake for Jesus' birthday & I just made those Oreo Snowballs to eat tonight, after we eat scallops with baked potatoes & sour cream. 2008 is coming & I need to whip this little 4'10" body back into shape with a better exercise program - which is tough to do in the cold (ok - I'm already finding excuses!) & I need to get back to sensible eating. Who's going to join me & "take off weight in 2008??" - To the OP - Mandee you can't join in anymore - that baby needs you to eat!! |
I'm with you! ;) I started in at the gym in mid June and didn't see hardly any results until October. Since then I've lost 13 pounds. I'm down to 142 and think I want to lose another 10 or so. |
I would join in...but I have been trying to lose the same 20 pounds for a really long time...and it ain't budging. Soooooo...I guess I'll have to be satisfied with the weight I am, I feel good and that's the most important thing to me. |
I will join on the first. I am beginning by doing the adkins for two weeks. |
Ok, here goes!!!! This was sent to me (maybe a hint) but I thought it would be great to share to start those DIETS!!!!!!! "Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse. The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste At the holiday parties had gone to my waist. When I got on the scale there arose such a number!!! When I walked to the store (less a walk, more a lumber) I'd remember the marvelous meal I'd prepared; the gravies and sauces and beef nicely rare, The wine and the rumballs, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said "No thank you please." As I dressed myself in my husbands old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt I said to myself, as I only can "You cant spend the winter disguised as a man!" So away with the last of the sour cream dip, Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip Every last bit of food that I like must be banished 'Till all the additional ounces have vanished. I wont have a cookie-not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick I wont have hot biscuits or cornbread or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore But isnt that what January is for? Unable to giggle, no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!!! |
Ohh I just found this, I want to join.I need to loose 20 pounds. I done this over the summer but gained it all back when the kids went to school and I had to stop walking. When I first started in the summer I gained for the first 3 weeks. My problem is I quit smoking last year and now I have nothing to do so I eat. When it gets cold outside I hate to go out. I love the heat, I guess thats why I live in Texas. I sat and read through all of this thread. I got some good ideas so off I go to loose loose loose. Ohh and for the people over 50 that cant seem to loose, I got to tell you my MIL is almost 60 and she lost 40 pounds. It took a lot of work but she done it. Keep trying!!! |
But...but...but...it's sooooooooooo hard. Yep, I'm 50 plus in years, I really feel like I eat pretty good (healthy)...but I do an office job, sitting at a desk 8 hours a day, and the only exercise I can say I enjoy is walking...so walk more, right? |

I want to join - I got too thin and now am where I want to be but - I'm getting into a bad chocolate addiction at night...it's starting to show :( what's the plan since we're so close to New Years ? Now or wait till the holiday is over ?? I'm too lazy to read every thread lol - |
I'm SO IN for "Losing Weight in '08". I've always said I'd like to be a little thinner (about 20 lbs), and I'm young so it shouldn't be that hard, but I guess I never cared THAT MUCH. Well, now I do! I'm going to lose that 20 at least in the first 6 months of 08 (good goal, I think!). BF and I are starting our diet on January 1, and I'm so excited! It's going to be not great food and bland and sometimes boring, but I'm giving myself one night a week to CHEAT so that I don't go CRAZY!!!!!! BF also just quit smoking (cold turkey - my Christmas present :D) so it will be extra hard for him to lose pounds, but he's a strong-willed guy, so I don't think it'll be that much of a problem! Anyway, good luck to all! I'm actually REALLY REALLY REALLY looking forward to eating a ton of spinach salads :D |
I had recently lost weight and was the size that I wanted to be....then came the holidays. Now,I need to lose about 10lbs. I plan to do Weight Watchers and would love to have a WW buddy. If anyone is interested, drop me an email. We can do this! :) Tammy |
