today my 5th day not smoking and im doing ok i guess... lots of gum on me.
im trying once again... this time i will succeed... im so happy for you, i just
pray to god i can reach 2 years without one...

for me, one day at a time...

when i get an urge, i ask god to take that urge away and he does..

Nice job! The first week is He-- week, the second week is heck week and the third week you just feel like crap. After that it gradually gets easier. Drink lots of water and suck on cinnamon sticks! Remember, the only person you hurt by slipping is yourself and nasty old nic won't make anything better. Congrats for having the strength to stick to it so far! If I can do it, anyone can!

It's been 3 years, 3 months and a few days since I quit. Now, I'm the person I hated, holding my nose when I walk through the smoking area outside work. I didn't plan to quit when I did, but ended up in intensive care for lung surgery from something else. There was a man in the bed next to me with really bad emphysema, a lady on the other side who had a lung transplant and to this day I can still hear the coughing and smell the decaying tissues and medications. I can honestly say that there have probably been a couple of times that I've wanted a 10' long cigarette, but THANK GOD it passed quickly.

Isn't it a great feeling

I just celebrated my two years of being smoke free on Aug 29th.

For those of you who have recently quit, or thinking about it, believe me it is doable...and soooooooooooooo worth it !!!!!
