Baby name- need your opinion 1 Attachment(s) We decided we are going to name our Girl Tess but my husband likes Tes better with one "s'. I cant decide if it is visually pleasing to me or not. What do ya'll think? I also wanted to give a little update in this thread as Ive been getting a lot of pm's (which I love, my YT family is so sweet and caring!). Im 6 months along now and I cant believe I have almost 4 more months to go!!! Im so impatient and I wish this would go faster! And I cant possibly imagine how big I will be in 4 months, lol:D . Ive already gained about 30 lbs  :D I CAN NOT quit eating!!! Its insane! But I am still really enjoying working on the baby room although Ive been too tired the past month to really make any progress. I really cant wait until I start getting furniture because then the real decorating will begin. My mom has already started on the crib quilt and I just bought a pattern to try and make everything else for the room and Im still working on paintings. I really did pick a hard theme when I decided to do a mermaid theme! I found adorable mermaid fabric but it is not easy finding cute corresponding fish or aquatic fabrics this time of year:rolleyes: . But anyways that's my update! Ive also had a bunch of request for a belly picture so here it is, taken this past weekend: |
Shana - you look gorgeous!!!!!! It's hard to believe you've gained 30 lbs - looks like all baby to me!!!! I like Tess with two "s" myself, but I don't think it would be bad with one either. You're in the home stretch now and you should start having more energy soon. I'd love to see how the baby's room is progressing also. |
Girl you are tiny!!!!!!I like it with 2 ss because the will call her Tez if it's one s lol it looks better with 2 anyway lol IMO. you look so good! |

I like it with 2 ss. You are such a cute Mommy to be. |
Tess Great pic Shana. You guys... She looks amazing!!! And she's right! All that girl does is EAT! She has a TEXAS sized appitite! Its amazing to watch her put it away! But she looks amazing for 6 months, don't let her say otherwise... she is as pretty as ever! She was a slight little thing to start with!;) |

Tess is cute. If you spell it Tes she will be correcting people her whole life. Just something to think about! |
I like Tess with the 2 ss also. You look great!! You look all baby too! I can't wait to see your little ones room once it is done! I have all boy's (4 of them) and I am soooo girly,it would of been neat to girly up every thing. I like to paint and draw and my sisters have had me paint fairies and flowers in their girls room over the years. I wouldn't trad my boy's but gee it would of been nice to get frilly things! |
You are deffenitly glowing:) :) very pretty pic, so excited for you both:) |
I think it will save her a lot of trouble in school etc. if you use two S's because according to phonetic rules it needs two consonants to be a short e, otherwise who knows how often it will get mispronounced! With two S's there will be no question how it should be pronounced. As the parent of a child with a different name I can't tell you how frustrating it is for them sometimes. I really like the name Tess. In fact I had planned on naming my next puppy that to name my new puppy that, but then when you announced you were naming your baby that I decided I had better not :D. Still haven't thought of a name for her, poor little girl! She is already 8 weeks old! |
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I totally missed that He was behind the one s! You tell that WoW artard that this is the real world! NOT WoW! He cant shorten things here! lawl... (he'll know what "lawl" means) What an artard! Tell him I said NO! |
I like Tess with two "s". |
Tess. You look adorable!! |
OMG - I love Tess ;) Actually - "IF" (and that's a BIG - IF) we decide to have a baby one day and if we have a girl - Her name will be Tesa. I am sooooooo in love with Tesa (or Tes for short). Also, this past year when we were in Italy on vacation, we stayed in a Town just outside of Venice, anyway, the name of the Town was Tessera (not that the Town was beautiful or even remarkable) - It's just that when I saw the Town sign - Tessera - I kinda like the full official name of Tessera (on the birth cert) and I would just call her Tesa or Tes. Anyway, sorry to go off topic... I happen to LOVE Tess - GREAT PICK! ;) |
Tess or Tesia or TesiaMarie |
Tess is prettier with two "s"s |
I am with the others..I like it spelled 'Tess'..very cute and unique name!! You also look great....adorable pic!! |
Oh girl, you seriously just look WAY too cute!!! And I agree with Jodie - so hard to believe you've gained 30 lbs! You DEFINITELY look all baby! Just soooo cute!! :D But about the name...I like Tess with TWO "s" at the end myself ;) When I see Tes with one "s" - I seem to read it as "Tez" for some reason, lol  I would definitely go with the two "s's" - sorry hubby, lol!! :D :p |
I like Tess. Tes seem's like it's missing a letter. LOL |
Shana, you look beautiful! I actually like Tes with one "s" because it's a little different but I question if people would know how to pronounce it? I'd hate for them to think it was like Tees. Anyhoo, you look great!!!!!! |
I'm with everyone else...I like 2 ss. I think she'll have to be correcting everyone how to pronounce & spell it. I had no idea you've gained 30 lbs! You DO NOT look like it!! |

I guess they just see the work "Tried" with "en" added instead of pronouncing the ei like in "Frieda". I like the sound of Tree-den. That's a neat name. |
i like tess and shana you look so pretty with your cute little belly :p |

you are adorable .... good luck ... the time will fly, before you know, your baby will be here ... :teeth: |
some spelling can be tricky ... make it easy for your child Quote:
"when two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking, and it says its name" ... (thus a long "i") I had a girl in my class once ... her name was Danhl <?> she said it was Danielle, so, uh, like, why didn't they spell it that way? She could have told me her name was anything she wanted to... there is no rule for pronouncing a name spelled that way ... |
Tess definately. |
