| I bought a new puter with Windows Vista for my business. There are many problems in that the OS is not compatible with many windows based software programs. I got the new Office 2007 and none of my clients who receive my reports electronically could open the files. I ended up purchasing another puter with good old XP on it. I figure I will fire up the Vista once everyone else gets caught up with the Jones' so to speak! I really did not see a lot of difference with Vista itself. It is a bit prettier but I personally don't think it is worth the hassle, yet.

| Just say no..... at least until SP 2 comes out. I happened to go into a small local computer store recently, and the owner told me he is special ordering many new computers with Windows XP installed because Vista is sooooo probelematic. Myself, I far prefer and just love, love, love my Mac. I have a small PC laptop as well, but will always use the Mac in preference. |

| I personally really like it. I didn't at first but once you get used to the new navigation and everything I think it is great.

Just like Gracie, our client's who do not own a Vista program, cannot open certain files and/or attachments. We use programs that connect to other companies online, and those programs don't work either. Have to plug into the old computer (what a waste) just to network. PS..Even our computer tech guy at work (mind you the company he works for gets paid $150/hr for him to work on these programs for people in our building)..said..stay away from Vista for now. | I hate it as well. I have XP on my personal laptop, but my college switched to Vista. It's like I have to learn everything over again! It honestly took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to print something the other day. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I did cancel the DEll. I think its ridicules to have to wait 2 months for my order. Sooooooooooooo, all's we;ve ever had are gateways, so I went with a gateway. We've never had any issues with them and its coming with tons of software (they say $800 worth, but who knows if thats the real cost) Last edited by Breny; 09-01-2007 at 03:06 PM. |
