please keep me in your thoughts I know I am new here, but please keep me in your thoughts. I am going for surgery on the 12th. I have 2 kidney stones, one on each side. They are 2.5 cm and 2 cm, I guess that is rather large. They say they usually measure them in mm not cm. There is some blockage. I am currently taking some meds for the pain, but they don't completely help. The doctor can only do one side at a time, so will need at least 2 surgeries. He wants to try what is suppose to be just a minor surgery first and he hopes that will work to remove the stone on the right. He is not really sure it will work. If it doesn't work, He will have to do what he says is a major surgery. He will have to go in thru my back to remove them and I will be in the hospital for a few days, I guess with a tube in my back. I am hoping that it doesn't come to that. Luckily me and aurora will go to my mom's house while I heal, then as soon as I am ready I will go back home. If you would, please keep me in your thoughts and hope this minor surgery is successful and goes over smoothly. Thanks Roxanne(aurora's mommy) |
Sending you our best! That doesn't sound like any fun. I'm sure it will be wonderful to be rid of them, though! I hope Aurora gives you some extra kisses. |
thank you. Yes I will be glad to have this done and over with. I been in pain for months but I put off going to doc because I have no insurance. Finally got so bad I went to the er. Went to the er on the night of aug 14, left early the morning of the 15th after being there for 9 hours. They figured out the problem and gave me a name of a urlogist(prob not spelled right). That doc didn't want to see me cuz of no insurnace. One hospital he suggested refused to see me because the er I went to wasn't in their network. The doc also suggested u of m hospital and I thank god that he did. U of M was awesome. They even told me about their charity care program. I had to be denied by other programs first. I tried the state and they say since I am single with no kids(aurora doesn't count to them..LOL) I have to make less than $200/month to qualify. Can someone even live on less than $200 a month?? I got insurance from the county next BUT it won't cover surgery. Its nice I will have insurance, but the surgery would be more than I can afford and thats what I needed help with. U of M was already suppose to have sent the forms to apply for their assistance. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away, so I was not home to get the forms. They were nice enough to fax them to my mom's house and let me fax them back with everything they needed. I sent it on aug 22nd and they said i wouldn't hear anything until at least the middle of the next week. My doc's assistant called the next day and says she will talk to them at charity care. She said she would have an answer by friday or monday at the latest. She calls the next day, aug 24th which is my bday and gave me the best birthday gift ever...I was approved for assistance and my surgery date is sept 12th. she said I was the fastest she ever saw anyone approved. Just knowing that I have that assistance has helped alot. The stress about worrying about the costs was making things worse. Now I just have the stress about my very first surgery. I know in all honesty things are moving fast for getting it taken care of, but seems to be going so slow. Will just be thrilled to have this done and over. Just worry about Aurora while I am sore and healing, she loves to always be on my lap and sleeping on me. She will sometimes jump on me as well. I don't think she will understand that she has to be easy on mommy. Hopefully being at my mom's, she will be too busy playing with my mom's yorkies and not jumping on me...LOL Sorry I rambled on so much |
Sending well wishes and speedy recovery thoughts and prayers your way! :justahug: |
