| 2 years ago we bought each of our kids an HP laptop. My son has had zero problems with his. My daughter's has been in twice for repairs. When we sent it to HP it took two months and a hundred phone calls to get it back. The hard drive was bad and they had to replace it. Then, the CD drive broke and we took it to a local shop to fix it. We've so far paid as much to get that one fixed as we originally paid for it. So? Who knows, I guess hers is just a lemon. |

| I have the 17" widescreen. It's fine but a bit cumbersome. Fortunately, I don't carry it around too often. I bought mine in december at best buy. it was on sale. I haven't had technical difficulties but I had to send it to hp for a new screen because it fell off my table and the frame around the screen was coming apart. I received a box from HP, sent it to them, had it repaired and received it within 5 days!

| My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I was thinking about getting a 17 " screen. Do you think its too big? Should I go 14 to 15? |

| if you are just going to leave it on a desk or move it around your house while you use it, 17" schould be fine...plus it's a nice size screen...but if you are going to carry it to work or carry it somewhere daily or regularly, I'd get a smaller screen. I like my 17" but it is a bit bulky to carry it around. I took it to work a few times last year and it didn't fit into my work bag very well. It doesn't weigh a ton but it's just awkward, especially if you have to carry other stuff. It also doesn't fit into standard laptop bags very well either. You would need to get a larger one, unless you are able to stuff it in a smaller bag.

| We have a HP laptop. We love it. We take it on the road all the time. Have a wireless card. When at home, we have a mounting system that we snap it to and can use the 19" inch monitor and keyboard. We have Dells for all three of our daughters that are in college. Have not had a problem with any of them. My desktop is a Dell also..... But back to the subject. This is our third HP in 9 years and we are very pleased.

| HP and Compaq merged a while ago ... I had a HP desktop ... I rarely use that and love my Dell lap top much more. ... I think they are all made by the same company and have different names slapped on them .... it all depends what you put in it (OS, DD, GHz, RAM, etc)
