OOOHHH! how sweet are they??? poor little babies losing their mothers...at least they are being well taken care of.
I spotted a hedgehog outside my house the other night and went out to have a look at him..he must have heard me coming because he curled up in a ball...i went and got a little dried dog food for him..i didnt know if he would like it..i scattered some on the grass a little way from him and crept back to my porch to sit and watch...after a couple of minutes curiosity got the better of him and he went to investigate..and he was soon crunching away on the food!

you can feed hedgehogs dog food???!! cool! i never knew that. lol. i should ask my brother what he feeds his now ...

yes..dog food! i have rescued many hedgehogs in my time..one, when i was out walking my dogs and there he was lying in the middle of the path..i almost stepped on the poor little thing! it was spring and had just woken up and was very weak and underweight. i was told by a vet to feed him a bit of dog food and he pigged out on about 3 bowls full! and suddenly came alive again and was running round and round the carrier i had put him in. I then released him back to the place i had found him and he scuttled off into the long grass.
