| Buying a fur coat??? Before I post I just want to say I'm against fur, so this is MY opinion. I'm don't want to start any arguments w/ people who do wear fur, so please don't take offense. Today for my class, we went on a field trip to a fur coat store and learned about how the coats are made, etc. I'm totally against it, but it was for school so I had to go. Turns out my teacher is against fur too, but it's a textiles coarse so I guess it was good to learn. Anyways, I had to LAUGH when the guy was asked about the animal rights activists. He said that what "those people" do not know, is that coyotes kill children! I'm thinking to myself, those aren't the coyotes their making coats out of! Their making coats out of coyotes that were bred to become coats..and what about the chinchilla's and other animals? Oh and one animal (I forgot which) he justified it by saying that their really mean and kill their own babies..so that makes it right to wear that animal? The worst was that they make coats out of baby lambs! Can you believe that? Poor babies SO pretty much he had all these great excuses, but he even gave us a hand, kinda like persuading why fur is O.K. I just think it's a joke that you have to give someone a letter of persuasion to get them to purchase your product. What do you guys think? I attached it. fur.jpg And the worst part of the trip? Well before I even walked in my legs went numb because looking at the coats from the outside made me feel disgusted, but he was showing us a fur cuff, and I happened to be standing in the front and he put it on my wrist...I wanted to yell "GET IT OFF ME!" but I stayed decent because of respect for my teacher. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Oh girl - don't get me started on fur - I don't think I'd have been able to stay quiet - there's no good valid reason anyone should wear fur - it's FASHION and not necessary like it was way way back when man needed something to keep warm in - and the WAY THEY KILL these animals is REVOLTING and so cruel I was physically sick when I found out. I won't get into it but anyone can learn more typing a search using key words - FUR TRADE it's terrible that fur isn't outlawed - we strive to be humane and claim to love animals yet this torture continues all in the name of fashion - you handled yourself very well. I hope your teacher was proud of you |

| I'm one hundred percent anti fur. That would have been a hard thing for me to do too and I think you handled yourself well. The thought of wearing a dead skinned animal makes me want to puke. I would also never buy leather coats, and I really try to limit my accessories and buy "faux" leather. |

| Odd that you all did not make mention of the last line in that document. Did anyone read it? It makes me feel a whole lot better about home cooking, now I can say I don't wear real fur OR pour it into my dogs food bowl |

| No I didn't read it but you are right. We should not feed it to our animals either.

| I am 100% anti-fur as well. When I read the letter, particularly the last paragraph, it made me nauseas

| I read the propaganda they give out - left over parts sent to make dog food? I would have flipped out right then! So as a company u not only support killing an animal for their fur but u condone & support using by-products that could be potentially harmful to make food for another animal. Also the cost of a fur is mind blowing - so when they talk about the tedious work they do on making the coats to justify the cost - BS. I wouldn't have been so polite - I would have asked some hard hitting questions and made the guy squirm. What's wrong with wearing a faux? Less cost, beautiful coats and no one dies for it!!

| I would never wear a fur coat, or fur anything. There's plenty of faux fur material that people can make their coats out of. It just makes me plain mad.
