My son was in the 3rd grade (many yrs ago) and he came home one day very upset but not willing to talk. The next morning he did not want to go to school which was unlike him since he loved going previously. That afternoon i went to the school before classes ended to wait outside the room. I looked in thru the glass window in the door and saw the teacher bent over a child screaming in their face. She grabbed the child from their seat and took them to a closet - put them in and closed the door. Needless to say I went in that classroom so fast I about tore the hinges off the door. In a VERY stern voice I asked the teacher to step into the hall, went to the closet to remove the child and took my son by the hand and we headed for the principles office. The teacher refused to go stating she couldnt leave the other children. I raised the roof on that school - went to school board meetings and kept my child from returning until that woman was fired and an apolgy given to every parent and child in that room. Needless to say I checked on a regular basis for the remainder of my son's school days. I spoke to his teachers and attended board meetings until he graduated.
As parents we MUST protect our children! Some children do misbehave but there are rules and regulations in place for safety reasons - not just physical but psychological. |
