Jeez! This past week has been crazy in the news! First the bridge collapse. The miners in Utah (still praying that they're found safely). The 3 kids who were shot in Newark. The tornado warnings in Brooklyn!? (<--that is TOO crazy). an NYU student was killed. then this morning 3 workers were killed at a mine in Indiana.

Let's make things happy! Who has some good news to share?

I'm thinking about getting a parrotlet.. so tomorrow we're going to visit with the breeder in Jersey.

On Sunday I'm leaving for the beach for a week! Then the following Sunday I leave for Disney World for a week!

My mom is feeling better after a major illness/fall, my dog is healthy and happy, my husband is the same, we won't be declaring bankruptcy this week, and I have the very BEST family and friends in the world. I can't believe I'm SO in love with my friends, LOL, but I AM. I am SO blessed. At least, this week, hehe

Our finances are fine and I don't have to go back to work.

After today I realized I can't leave my son, even if it is with my mom.

And I'm happy for you; you sound like you'll be a good "parront", LOL

. Just remember...they're very different from any other animal that you've had before. I had to get used to having a dog after having birds for so long, hehe....dh got mad at me b/c when Max wasn't housetrained as quickly as I expected (it only took me a few hours with my one parrot), I said "well, he's very cute, but he's certainly not as smart as a parrot".....of course, I said this out of his earshot

. Now, I think he's pretty smart after all.....but he still hasn't learned how to say "I love you" in English....but I know he means it

You can potty train a parrot? I've never heard of that before!

I was thinking we should get one of those little flight suit-things.. not sure how well that would go though!

I'm getting my new baby Pixie 6th september..did i mention her already? lol

and..my husband gets promoted to Sergeant 28th this month! I get to buy pretty evening dresses and go to functions in the SGT's mess..yay!

My daughter has a 4.0 GPA in grad school after 6 classes ...

I am so proud of her ... all "A"s

I start my new job on Monday! YAY! My close friend is getting married on the 25th! And, although my boyfriend wrecked his strret bike last week I am SOOOO thankful because it could have been MUCH worse!

My son gets to have another six months of not getting his I V gammaglobulin treatments( Unless he gets sic before the next blood draw) He is going on four years of not needing it yet!! He was born with a Primary Immune Defect

My Hubby got to put in his letter for the foreman position at his work place, we are hoping that he gets it because of his past experience compared to the other 2 guy's that have also put in the letter too.
