| Need Legal Advice Please Ok, here is the situation... We installed a vinyl privacy fence. My dad did 1/3rd of it, and we hired outside for the rest. We had a contractor that picked up some brush for us and was nice enough. He said he had done a privacy fence 2 weeks ago. We went and looked it over and it looked well done. He was only charging us 250 to finish the job. That seemed to be a huge bargain and I was apprehensive, but looked at some landscaping jobs he did, as well as the other fence and we really needed it up, so we said ok. First thing I noticed was that the gate was crooked. He "fixed" it. Sean paid him even though I said I thought we should wait. My dad just came over and noticed the whole left side of our gate is literally WAVING at us. It isn't noticeable from the inside so we missed it, although it is VERY noticeable on the outside. We've placed 2 unreturned calls to him. I'm sorry, but if you do a job and give a quote, you should DO the job correctly. I'm thinking about taking him to small claims court. Just in materials we spent 2,000 and 8 of the poles will need to be removed and replaced at the tune of 40 each. What do you guys think? Do I have a case here I can win? I am so livid right now. |
