Bumps females only!!! When your shaving ...down there... and you get bumps how do you know if its razor burn...or...something else? :( |

The before picture here is razor burn. For the "something else," I assume you're talking about an STD...for pictures of those, go here. |
If it is where you just shaved it is more than likely razor burn, BUT if you have even the slightest bit of concern that if could be something else and have been not always been "protected" then I would get tested. More than likely razor burn, but that fact that you are worried about it being something else seems like maybe you should test anyway. If you have been in a "compromised position" and you are worried then don't hesitate. Does this make sense? God I feel like a mom  |
I get in grown hairs every once in a while, those hurt!:( |
Its not on my legs though, like it shows in the razor burn picture its more like... hm... above my vagina and below my bellybutton, if that makes sence so its not where their showing stds either but i am leaning more twords razor burn |
problem Use an electric razor..they have cheap ones for women. Not as likely to get a burn..good luck |

Sounds like razor burn. You can get it anywhere that you shave, doesn't have to be on the bikini line. It could also be a rash of some kind. It's unlikely (though, it IS possible) that you'd have an STD outbreak near your belly button. Take some benadryl & watch it closely. If it goes away after one or two doses of benadryl, it's a rash caused by an allergic reaction to something. If it doesn't go away...go to the doctor asap. Better safe than sorry :) |
I wax, and don't get any bumps  |

What kind of wax do yall use? |
about the bumps: if you shave in the direction the hair grows, you will have less razor burn. if you put clear deodorant on the area, you will also have less bumps (it helps to keep the area from sweating). about the wax: i use a "hard wax" that i get at Wal-Mart. it eliminates having to use the strips. it's about $5 a container and i normally use about 1/2 at a time. i WILL noT use any more "cold" or "sugar" waxes. i think they hurt more. i also found this stuff called "no scream cream." look it up. it's a topical anistetic (sp) that you put on 15-30m before you wax. i think it helps, but my friend said it didn't. (she was pregnant at the time and sensitive anyway) |
I go and GET waxed. It's $35, but I can't shave there without getting RED bumps that itch and hurt for at least 3 days. So what's the point of shaving if the bumps last 3 days... Anyway, I go to a local salon that is VERY professional and fast. It takes about 10 minutes and lasts 4 weeks. I maybe get 1 ingrown hair. I'll take that over 200 bumps!! I guarantee I have the most sensitive skin ever and I can handle it. |
