Bumps females only!!! When your shaving ...down there... and you get bumps how do you know if its razor burn...or...something else? :( |
Quote:
The before picture here is razor burn. For the "something else," I assume you're talking about an STD...for pictures of those, go here. |
If it is where you just shaved it is more than likely razor burn, BUT if you have even the slightest bit of concern that if could be something else and have been not always been "protected" then I would get tested. More than likely razor burn, but that fact that you are worried about it being something else seems like maybe you should test anyway. If you have been in a "compromised position" and you are worried then don't hesitate. Does this make sense? God I feel like a mom  |
I get in grown hairs every once in a while, those hurt!:( |
Its not on my legs though, like it shows in the razor burn picture its more like... hm... above my vagina and below my bellybutton, if that makes sence so its not where their showing stds either but i am leaning more twords razor burn |
problem Use an electric razor..they have cheap ones for women. Not as likely to get a burn..good luck |

Sounds like razor burn. You can get it anywhere that you shave, doesn't have to be on the bikini line. It could also be a rash of some kind. It's unlikely (though, it IS possible) that you'd have an STD outbreak near your belly button. Take some benadryl & watch it closely. If it goes away after one or two doses of benadryl, it's a rash caused by an allergic reaction to something. If it doesn't go away...go to the doctor asap. Better safe than sorry :) |
I wax, and don't get any bumps  |

What kind of wax do yall use? |
about the bumps: if you shave in the direction the hair grows, you will have less razor burn. if you put clear deodorant on the area, you will also have less bumps (it helps to keep the area from sweating). about the wax: i use a "hard wax" that i get at Wal-Mart. it eliminates having to use the strips. it's about $5 a container and i normally use about 1/2 at a time. i WILL noT use any more "cold" or "sugar" waxes. i think they hurt more. i also found this stuff called "no scream cream." look it up. it's a topical anistetic (sp) that you put on 15-30m before you wax. i think it helps, but my friend said it didn't. (she was pregnant at the time and sensitive anyway) |
I go and GET waxed. It's $35, but I can't shave there without getting RED bumps that itch and hurt for at least 3 days. So what's the point of shaving if the bumps last 3 days... Anyway, I go to a local salon that is VERY professional and fast. It takes about 10 minutes and lasts 4 weeks. I maybe get 1 ingrown hair. I'll take that over 200 bumps!! I guarantee I have the most sensitive skin ever and I can handle it. |

when i do it myself tho, i have to leave the um, "lower middle" out. those hurt the mostest. i have actually gone to get that part done and the lady refused. she actually told me to use some NAIR!! i almost fell over. nair stinks and burns and it says oN the BoTTLe not to use "there" |

As for the bumps sounds like ingrown hair. Very painful and sore. Good luck! |

Just wanted to pass this on. |
can you get it at everyone's favorite store, Wal-mart? i don't really get alot of razor burn (waxing bumps) but i do have a friend who says it makes her sweaty if she even shaves it all. thanks for the tip!! |
I GET waxed too, no way i would do it myself lol, i wouldn't be able to stand the pain. I pay like $78, but it's so fast, and they take off everything! lol idk what type of wax they use but it's green and it's great! It dries up on your skin right away so that you just pull it off, you don't have to use any strips to take it off, you just pull the wax right off |
yeah. i should go and get it all done. it seems like when someone else does it i'm to proud to say, "nO!!" but i think i just don't have the flexibility i did as a teen and can't pull it off fast enough!! |
Ok i just now booked my appt. for tomorrow!! I'm scared lol, i'm always nervous right before i go in cause it hurts everytime but after it's over the pain is gone. i'm going to DR and have to get it done! i know how nervewrecking it is tho, so for those of you who are scared to go get waxed just try it at least once, it will be over before you know it. I remember i had 2 free passes for me and a friend to get brazilian waxes and my friend chickened out!! LOL I couldn't believe it, i could have taken someone else! |

I agree, everyone needs to try it at least once. It's not as bad as it's made out to be...really, I promise! I had to quit going because I can't afford it anymore. It's about $60 around here tip included and that's just for the bikini line & part of the pubic area (landing strip is left). About the Brazilian, how bad was that? I mean...uhm...when they go near the err rear entry!? LOL I've always been to chicken to go & get the Brazilian because of that. |

I used to get most of it taken off, but have them leave a strip...but I didn't let them go near my butt lol. EVERYTHING on my "area" lol was taken off except the strip on the pubic mound, but nothing past the vagina lol. That was crossing my comfort zone. Maybe I'll give the actual brazilian a try  I'm leaving for NC on the 14th & we'll be going to 2 water parks so I think I'll go for it. |
