| I have 2 cockatiels. The male says about 65 different things. He is hysterical. The female just has her special chirps until she gets mad at Cosmo. Then things get really loud. But we love them.

| i have a blue and gold macaw and a gofini (sp?) cockatoo ... i used to have when i was little a sun conure, lovebirds, an amazon parrot, cockatiels, lovebirds, and another kind of cockatoo (but can't htink of it right now) ... my house is a zoo i swear of all the birds i love our gofini and loved my sun conure the best (that's because they were my own birds that I took care of). these kinds of birds get really attached to a person really quick. my conure loved JUST me and wouldn't like anyone else, she tolerated my family to hold her but strangers... out of the question. they are really loving and smart birds. i can't say more about it. my conure lived for 12yrs. our gofini is now 17yrs old. and our macaw is the same age.

Wow that's so cool, i want a cockatoo!! But im still deciding about it. I can't get one now, i would have to wait till i move out into a big house and i would build it a huge outside cage, but i would have it inside most of the time. Do yours talk?

When I went to Curacao the aviaries were everywhere! The hotel had several of them randomly around (two of them had macaws and one had some type of green bird and cockatiels). Even the place where we went to ride horses at hads parrots outdoors.. so pretty.

| I have a african grey otis 10yrs old and a goffin cockatoo bailey 7yrs old. Otis calls all the dogs by name and whistle for them, sounds like beeper on the telephone, laughs, he talks in both my voice and my husband voice, and there are times when we can't tell the difference, he loves to yell at the top of his voice HELP ME HELP ME, kids taught him that one halloween, he carries on a complete conversation with himself expample, "did plug the fence in, no, why not, his newest in my voice is " I got shock" in my husband voice "what you want me to do about it" bailey does very little talking, he screams at night when it gets dark, put he is the sweet one , you can hold him, turn him upside down loves his belly rubs, otis doesn't like to be touch. If you get one of these birds please remember they live to be 60 to 80 years, we close our gate at the end of driveway to keep the big dogs in when a car comes up otis will wait until they open the gate and yell "ya'll come on in" I have no idea where he pick that up. it's funny because the people will look for a person saying that and there is no one to be seen, they don't believe it's the bird. |

| Today we went and visited with a parrotlet breeder. She had one little girl and she was so tiny! She was about 3 or 4 weeks, I believe. I forgot to ask exactly how old she was. But anyway, she was so friendly! As we were leaving I gave her back to the breeder and she flew out of the breeder's hand and onto my shoulder! So cute! We put down a deposit on her and she'll be ready in 3 weeks! I can't wait to bring her home! |

I'm not sure! I hear females don't talk as often as males. I'd probably freak out if she did!
