I am scared to death
 
In one hour I have to take my husband to the Dr to see if he will have to have is foot amputated.

I am scared to death of what our lives will be like from here forward.

I know many of you have gone through things like this. How do you make it through to tomorrow when you hate what tomorrow might bring?

If I am feeling this bad, how bad must it be for him.

I need all the prayers and support that I can get right now.

I hide in here because I don't want him to know I'm crying.

Please hold my hand.

Oh heavens Jeanie was it an accident or is he a diabetic?
Whatever the reason I am sending prayer's to get you through this
difficult time and prayer's for him that his foot can be saved.
Hang in there girl and think positive. I am holding your hand.:hands:

I'm holding your hand! And we're praying for both of you right now. I know you're scared. I would be too. I really pray that the doctor gives you better news than you're expecting. If his foot does need to be amputated, I have seen some amazing things done with prosthetics and such. Keep your chin up sweetie. I'm proud of you for being so strong. Hugs.

I wish I had some pearl of wisdom that would help ease your fears but all I have to offer is friendship. I'll be here every day and always available for a shoulder to lean on.
Wipe away your tears, hold your head up and face the moment. Allow your friends at YT to carry the worry for now while u and hubby live in the moment and when u return we will deal with the answers together.

Oh my gosh, you poor thing. I don't have any wisdom to offer, but will be here for you...I'm praying that you get good answers when you head to the doctors this afternoon.

you know you can call me anytime - I know what you're going thru on a daily basis and I hope he doesn't need amputation .....please come post as soon as you hear something and big hugs to you both

and in case you need to know (since I just got thru cutting my lawn) - yes....it was good for me ...:p

A few months ago my husband was in the hospital for 7 days with MRSA. The infection got into an incision from knee surgery. They told me the infection was in his leg BONE after the second surgery to clean it. I was so scared he would lose his leg. I could not even begin to think about what it would mean for us. I was terrified.Thankfully he did not lose his leg. Your husband is lucky to have you there for him. I am hoping everything goes well for you both. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Oh Jeanie, your husband must be so frightened also....Lets just all pray all this worry and sadness was unnecessary and everything is going to be ok....

Let go to whatever power you believe in.

We can only feel that things are out of control if we believe we have any control over the outcome. In this case--it's out of your control.

It's amazing how quickly you'll feel more grounded after letting go.

Then no matter what happens, you'll have a calm, clear head.

You have all of our hands to hold and all of our arms will be around you to help you thru this. Hang on to us and us our strength to make you brave. You have to be brave - for your hubby. He is probably more scared than you are. Prayers for the Dr. to give you some hopeful news. And more prayers to help you and hubby make it thru everything you are facing.

I am sorry you and your husband are having to deal with this. Prayers are going out that he will not need to have it amputated. I hope you get good news as you are probably at the doctor right now.

Thank you for the positive thoughts, but he is 74 years old and has had a stroke and his balance is not good on two good feet. I don't think a prosthetic is an option for him.

The news is, there is no blood at all getting to his foot. The Dr ordered another test to find out where the blockage, so when they have to amputate they know how high to go.

If the blockage is high enough, there is a chance that they could do bypass surgery and that might work, but he has had this done before so I don't know if he has anymore good veins to use.

It is really not a matter of IF, but WHEN. It's only a matter of time before the tissue on his foot begins to break down due to lack of oxygen.

My stomach is in a knot right now. I need to pull self together. Two of my girls are coming this after noon, and I'fm afraid of having a melt down in front of them and the grandkids.

It's know how stressful, and emotionally draining living w/ a chronic disease can be...some days you just want it to go away...just for a day....everyday is a unknown of how it will be...is today going to be an ok day... or is it going to be one of those emotionally draining,difficult days...

Sometimes just 15 minutes of quiet and calm can recharge your spirit...when life pushes you push back, don't forget to do that for your self, your husband is going to need you....:ghug:

Again, I'm so sorry for you. My gma has diabetes & has had a bypass before. They couldn't do as many as they wanted to because she didn't have enough good veins. That's such a scary situation to be in. You just need to believe that no matter what happens you'll still have each other & you'll still love each other. I'm so glad that your girls are coming to be with you today and that you do have a support system through them. I'm sure you'll be strong in front of your grandbabies, but your daughters will understand if you cry in front of them. They will want to help you in any way and if that means letting you cry on their shoulders I'm sure they'll be glad to be able to comfort you. They can't do anything about the situation but they can be there for you and your husband. I know I wouldn't want my Mom to try to pretend that she was handling it okay just for my sake. They'll know how scared you are even if you don't tell them. You've comforted them many times, let them be there for you now when you need it so much. I'm sending more hugs and prayers your way. Please know we're all here for you. :hands: :hands: :hands:
