Thank you As mothers, we are so used to being the rock for our children, we forget to let them be the rock for us. |
Awwwww Miss Jeanie !! You didn't tell me about that yesterday !!  i'm sending you all my thoughts and prayerz to the both of you !! :( :( |
When I was a little girl, my Grandma had diabetes and she had to have her leg amputated several inches above the knee. She lived in NY City, in an apartment on the 4th floor...no elevator. She was around the same age as your husband. Well, when she returned to the apartment, she tried to be her old cheerful self! She was born in Ireland and loved to sing Irish songs. I just loved to hear her accent. She would give herself daily insulin shots (in the part of the amputated leg that was left). She would just wince for a second and then smile and move on! She seldom left the apt. after that...it would take two men to carry her in a kitchen chair down the stairs. But her children and grandchildren would visit and shop for her and occasionally have a drink of whiskey and a song to share! She lived for another 10 or 12 years! And she was happy! Good luck to both of you! I will say a prayer in memory of my grandma for you. XO |
I am so sorry you are having to go thru this and I will certainly keep you and your family in my prayers. My husbands best friend in the world had his leg amputated just below the knee. He was in his 70's and bless his heart he had lots of supporting people around him and he came thru it really good. His prosthesis never felt good so he seldom wore it but walked with crutches and rode his 4 wheeler. Kept on working with his horses. He and my husband spent hours daily together building, welding, taking care of chores. So even if the worst happens, keep your chin up and help hold your husbands up too. I will be here to hold your hand if you ever need me. Patty |
