Okay, I don't know how this happened but I just found a blister in my belly button right beside my belly button ring. Geesh, When will they stop popping up. I'm not popping the blisters, I hope it stops spreading. I was laying out in the sun and thought, "this can't be good for it" so I've taken a cool shower and I'm inside watching the race. I hope I don't find any more blisters. |

I was about 30 the first time I got into poison ivy. I suffered for about a week and said ENOUGH! I went to the doctor and got the shot and some creme. What a relief...they were gone in a matter of days. |

I agree....... my hubby had it pretty bad and zanfel cleared it up - after using it, the itching stopped immediately. |
4 out of my 5 children have had poison ivy all at the same time. Two are severely allergic to it and they go in for a steroid shot whenever they get it which helps clear it up fast. It can not be spread by oozing blisters. You only get it by being exposed to the oil, which can be on your clothes and even your pet. If it's not real severe, Benadryl and Calamine Lotion work for my kids along with Oatmeal baths. Hopefully your doctor will give you a steroid shot so you can get it over with. I've seen blisters continue to appear for a week, without the steroid shot. Good Luck and try not to scratch it or purposely bust the blisters. I know that's not easy to do!! |

Paula...So you've been in the weeds and now have poison ivy. I haven't had that since I was a kid, I guess I became immune to it...or I learned to stay out of the weeds. I still have nightmares, of my mom running after me to plaster me with calamine lotion...God I hated that stuff, and I spent every single summer covered with that pink paste. Laying out in the sun...or taking a hot bath/shower IS NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! Try the Ivy Itch stuff (cheaper) but the Zanfel (expensive) is suppose to work great. Or just wait until tomorrow and ask the doctor you work for to cure you!!! Benedryl at bedtime...will help you sleep and take away the itch. Wish you well...NOW STAY OUT OF THE WEEDS!!! |

P.S. I NEVER gotten this before despite spending lots of time in the woods and weeds. So I was unaware I needed to be cautious. LESSON LEARNED!!! |

Are you all sick of me whining about this yet??? Now it has formed a nice line down the left side of my face. Very attractive. My doc says he can give me oral steroids but thinks I shouldn't. None of the areas are large, it just continues to spread.:( He says I have to be re-exposing myself. I think maybe it's on my boys coats and when I love on them it gets back on me. I gave them baths. I will not bore you all anymore with my pustules/blisters. Thanks for the suggestions you gave. |
Oh I've had it all over my face before! I looked like the Elephant Girl! Over the counter.. I use.. Cala Gel really stops the itching..and I know this is horrible but when mine break open I put LISTERINE on them.. it burns like.. you know but it drys is up quickly. I've tried it all. |

Myself, my son and my sister are all very allergic to poison ivy if we look @ it we get it Lol we have used this but it\'s pretty expensive if you know anybody who sells avon you can buy one of their planet spa scrubs the mediterranean olive oil scrub and conditioning hair mask and it works great if you can\'t find that try some o/c hydorcortisone cream and take some benedryll.
