| Organizing.... What are best organizing tips? My parents are going to add on to to their house and they are wanting to know good organization tips. They are adding onto their bedroom and will be adding another bedroom on and don't have much room to store things. They don't really want to rent a storage unit because that would take some of their money they have towards the add on. I am the organized one of the family, but I'm looking for some new tips. Thanks!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Get one of those kits that combine nooks, shelves and hanging spaces. If I had REAL closets in my house, I would. Several of my friends have them and they LOVE them. (One also has a small wall of drawers. God, I hate her! ) Also, use CLEAR plastic containers for anything you store ... or be religious about labeling. Saves a lot of time, effort, and confusion when looking for something. |

Clear plastic containers are the best! They come in a multitude of sizes, too!

| What I have done is purchased tons of baskets and, as someone else mentioned, clear boxes. I prefer baskets as they tend to look better. No matter how many you buy, I'm sure you'll figure out something to put in them. Also, invest in a P-Touch. They are a great investment and really help with keeping everything in order. I love using mine and have had it forever! |

| i like the underbed storage boxes...edgar hates them tho, b/c he likes to sleep under the bed. colors are good for holidays, but i like clear the best. also, have them go thru their things. if they haven't worn it in 3months (unless it's a coat/seasonal) have them put it in the yardsale. i like to have my magazines in the magazine holders, but now i just give them away to friends. |

| Tubs, Tubs, Tubs....we use tons of those rubbermaid tubs w/ lids. All sizes....some have rollers, some are huge, some are small (shoe box size), some fit under the bed, etc. They come in clear, colors, etc and all sizes. I use them for EVERYTHING. I like the fact that they have lids and can be stacked. I label them......I have them for all the holidays (decorations), crafts, etc. I recycle the plastic sacks you get from the grocery stores.....I like the paper bags, but some places don't use them anymore...anyway, I have four storage things for bags that attach on the inside of a cabinet door....I have one in each bathroom and the kitchen. I use these bags for everything too.... I have storage bins/shelves in each of the bathrooms and utility closets, etc. and everything is neatly placed in them and labeled. Like, all batteries and flashlights (extra ones) are in one. Small items, like screws, screwdrivers, etc in another. I use some bins that are a metal cage that you can pull out the door...I use them under the sinks in the bathroom for hair stuff, etc. Work well in closets for small items (like gloves, scarves, etc). For Mojo and Lily's things....I use the big 7 drawer rubbermaid roller cart/shelf thing.....and inside the narrow drawers, I have smaller containers (also rubbermaid) to hold barrettes, combs, etc. These also work well for gardening stuff and scrapbooking stuff, etc. I love to hear about storage ideas, so bring 'em on!

| I also like photo boxes. They are great for smaller things. I have several that I use for reciepts and random papers and a few for Christmas ornaments. I got them when they go on sales at Craft Stores. |
