| "Baby Fat" I had my son last January and it's been killer losing the weight. I ended up gaining 80lbs with him and lost 40 fairly quickly. Now it seems like I'm stuck. We go for walks daily and it's like I'll lose 2 pounds here and gain 5 there. I'm not big on dieting (I never stick to it) but I use to excerise all the time. How long did it take you to lose the weight? Also, any tips on losing weight?

| How long did it take you to lose the weight? 19 years Dieting only made me fatter Just improving what I eat has helped tons, but if I want ice cream, then I HAVE ice cream. Just not 1/2 of a gallon every night I know it's super hard, it took me a long long time to finally be back to my "fighting weight" Just take one day at a time, try to eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and low fat dairy, and get as much exercise as your day will allow. You can do it!

| Thanks!!! I lost a good 15 lbs right after I had him. I was losing weight good and then a lot of health issues come up in my family and I just stopped losing. I excerise good with the walks, I try not to over do it because of my high blood pressure. I also did weight watchers for a couple weeks (see I don't last) and was starting to notice the pounds drop slowly. I'm hoping since things are starting to calm down some I will begin to lose again. Hubby tries to diet with me but he cheats so I think that's why I'm not the best at them. When I use to diet with friends they would always cheat too. I have good areobics tapes but I just cant find time to do it. I wish I could find like a mommy and baby areobics class. I'd love that!

| I gained 60lbs with our wee one. Then another 30+ over the next 8 years. It's taken me two years of hard work to finally get back down to a healthy weight, 101 lbs gone!! I've pretty much been doing what LunasMomma said. Only I needed that extra support and accountability. So I joined Weight Watchers online, but switched to meetings shortly after. It's "slow", but healthy. I've been using the time to learn a lifestyle rather than dieting. As for a quick tip... Don't starve yourself. Drink LOTS of water! Espeically if you're exercising or nursing. The way it was explained to me was to think of your body as a car. Your body needs fuel to run. The better quality of food (fuel) the better your body runs. Exercising and nursing cause the body to burn through the fuel quickly. When you don't refuel enough, the body will refuse to give up any weight. It goes into a starvation/survival mode. Giving your body the better fuels/foods convinces it you can take care of things. Then it's more likely to give up those reserved fuel cells (fat). Whatever you do, don't give up!! You're worth it!!

Thanks so much for the great tips! I think that is my problem. I'm so busy during the day with my son sometimes it's noon before I have anything to eat or drink. By time hubby gets home at 4:30 I'm starving and eat everything in sight. I need a better routine. LOL

| I feel ya. I had my 2nd daughter last June. I gained about 60lbs with her. I am still 30lbs over what I was when I got pregnant. It is SO frustrating. The lbs take forever to loose! Lots of hard exercise, and TONS of fruits and veggies! Best of luck! Oh and keep a daily log of ALL food & drink that you have, and how much exercise you do daily. This will show you all of the calories you are taking in and make you more aware! Also, DONT cut carbs. Your mind needs them! (the good kind anyways!) www.mypyramid.gov is a great source...and FREE!
