You can pick any Yorkie picture on anything...a good tatoo artist can copy it. Pati's first one was from a Yorkie mug..(the little one sitting in flowers with a big pink bow)..the new one is from a tee shirt...

Ok.. here is my story. My daughter got a "turtle" tattoo when she turned 18. (That was 4 years ago). I say, I had my "mid-life" crissis last year (being 40+ something!! lol) and had the same tattoo artist do the same tattoo on my foot that he did on my daughters foot. I just got the "mack mamma" turtle. I had it blown up so I could have my 3 skin kids and my husbands initials put in the turltle shell.

It hurt, but not as bad as I thought it was going to. :D

I now say I am going to have "moose head" put on my tush! Well see.:rolleyes:

I really do love having it. I can show it if I want or I can keep it covered.....depending on my shoes! I mostly show it, I hate shoes!!:D :animal-pa

I have 2 tattoos. 1 on the back,upper left shoulder, and 1 on my upper arm. The one on my back was my first..I was 39..the second one I got was 2 yrs ago..(I was 48) The one on my back (a single rose....small) is fading and I would like a bigger one to take it's place. I LOVE the tribal tattoos..I will be having another one to cover the rose on my back...this one is going to be larger and longer... YES! it hurt!! And I have a very high pain tolerance. But after a while you go numb and don't really feel it.
I took a pic of the one on my shoulder...LOL! you should have seen me trying to do this by myself!!! Only took me 8 tries before I finally got one that you could actually see the tat!

Yours is neat too!!! I'm trying to figure out how to incorpoate a yorkie on my arm.

IF you do alot of colors make sure they do a good job - the lighter colors tend to fade - I had to retouch my Eagle - the best are the Reds - they seem to last the longest

oh - and don't put it in a place that could stretch if you gain weight LOL - I made that mistake with the one on my hip - I got pregnant - it went from a beautiful eagle to a sitting duck all in one year

Thanks Breny! I love tribal with flowers. If you do decide to go with tribal make sure you ask for the tribal black ink. The other black they use will fade to a dusty looking black. I only had my tatt done for a year when I had to go and have it re-done (by someone different).I like the way it looks now.

I have three! I have a palm tree on my hip, a flower on my foot and a heart on the back of my neck that I just got about a month ago...I dont really think they HURT persay..its not a throbbing pain like piercings are..its more of like a cat scratch or something. They told me that the top of the foot was the second worse spot to get it done (after your rib cage) but I think my neck hurt a little more..Maybe its just because it was more recent! haha Here are mine..

On the back of my shoulders I have tattoo's...one is Mickey Mouse and one is a yellow rose...I was OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse in my youth...now I am not lol...becareful what you get lol...the rose was because my ex used to give me yellow roses...ick...i need to get them covered with YORKIES!! Mine did not hurt at all...at first it feels like a scrape but it soon goes numb and you dont feel a thing...at least in my case..and spot...

I have one tattoo and it is a daisy on my foot. I LOVE flowers and daisys are my favorite flower. I have only one child so I have a single daisy on my foot for one child. If I ever have any more children I will add a branch off of that daisy. I know that sounds silly to some people but it is meaningful to me. I would like to have Hannahs paw print somewhere but I am still thinking about that one.

I really like chattiesmom's avatar pic for a tatoo - if she would agree to "sell the rights" LOL. But I am partial to tatoos that are all black.

I agree with others - make sure it's really what you want. I always knew what mine would be and never had second thoughts.

My oldest dtr has Snoopy and Woodstock on her ankle and the drama masks on her chest. My youngest dtr has her tribute to her daddy on her ankle and just got a ladybug on her chest (the one on her ankle was done too deeply and can never be fixed - you can read it like braille, it's like a scar. The guy that did her ladybug was able to color the ribbon blue and enhance the red and yellow. He is excellent and had all of us just about peeing our pants the whole time, he was hysterical.) 2 of my 3 step children have various ones from lizards to tribal art. I have freckles and will probably stick with them:) .

It's so funny that you say this! I have a Boris Vallejo piece on my side (and what's so sad is I've forgotten the title....I hate being forgetful). I've got a total of 7 tattoos, and the one across my ribs hurt way more than all of the other ones combined!! That's one of the most painful areas to get a tattoo on. But it's beautiful and to me worth it.

I've also got a flower on the inside of my right wrist, a bracelet on my left wrist, the back of my neck, 2 on my lower back, and one on my hip. Surprisingly, it isn't too difficult to hide my wrist tattoos for work with either watches, bracelets, or long sleeves.

This is true, just remember to shop around and give them time to draw it up for you. A few days is usually good.



I personally have a little turtle on my lower back, but I am planning a way bigger piece for my back. It is going to have Cherry Blossoms and both of my daughters names in Kanji.

I think I've narrowed it down to an arm band (only not all the way around my arm ) of flowers with a picture of Brodies head in the middle.

What do you think?

I found a cute arm band on the link that was provided and thought I'd use this as a guideline.

it's a sketch of a medusa, black and white. she's so gorgeous. sometimes people ask me if i'd want to change her face to be mine. i'm not so sure. you'd have to have a badass artist for that!

If you get Brodie's face in there, you might be encouraged to make the tattoo larger... When I got mine I came in with a few different designs that the artist refused to do unless I wanted them scaled up much larger. The more detail a tattoo has, the larger they would like it to be. It would be possible to put some detail in a small area, but it won't stay looking nice for long! The lady working at the tattoo place I went to showed me a small tattoo she had gotten 10-15 years earlier... it just looked like a big blob!

Well,,,,,, I made the call !

What do tatts normally cost? I just want to make sure I'm not taken , ya know. He said it could range from $150 and up depending on size and detail.

Cost really depends on where you go and who does it. Some places charge more for color, some charge by size, some charge by time. Ask for a quote of cost before you get it done! If they're charging by time, some people will just work more slowly to get more money. If you get a quote beforehand, you'll know how much you should be paying. Also, the tattoo place I went to told me not to be taken by places that charge more for color... it costs them the same amount to buy colors and black! My tattoo is about 5-6 inches wide and about 3 inches high... It cost me $120.

I have wanted a tattoo for years, but being a chicken and not sure if I'm too old now is the reasons for today. (I'm 49) If I could find someone to be brave with me, I'd go have a small one put some where. But I don't think my arm. I live in Florida and I wear too many sleeveless shirts to work, (Principal's secretary) I don't think it looks professional.
