What my little sis didn't tell you is that she went on a 150 mile ride yesterday. I am sooooo PROUD of her. Miss Cindy is so brave and such a good wife to do something she is so afraid of. Love ya frister.:) |
I TOTALLY understand how you are feeling. We (hubby) also have a Harley. Back in 2002 he hit a car head on. He was out of work for 6 months, degloved the front of his leg, from under the knee down, broke his tibia and had many, many scrapes and bruises, not to mention I had to practially become a nurse to take care of him, the IV's, meds, cleaning the wound, making sure the pin sites were clean, change the dressings, everyday, twice a day for 3 months....and I then would go to work. (he had an external fixature for the first 3 months then a cast for the next 3). I THANK GOD everyday that he didn't lose his leg...it came very close to that. He bought a brand new Harley 2 years ago. To say the least I am terrified to ride but, because of my husbands love and passion for bikes, if I want to be with him I have to ride....or stay home alone. My Mom bought me a guardian angel that I wear on the lapel of my leather coat and, I NEVER ride before I say a pray to God for a safe ride. We have a bike angel hanging from the handle bars, and a bell to "ward off road gremlins". We have almost gotten hit a couple of times because of STUPID people that don't look. I don't enjoy the ride like I should because I am "the eyes in the back of his head". I pray you ALWAYS have safe rides... |
Cindy, Bless your heart...you will do fine on being his riding buddy. I will keep you in my prayers. I enjoy riding on the back of a HD but I guess thats to be expected since my dad had one ever since I was a babe. Just start with short rides and gradually work your way to longer ones. You can always pm me for anything. |
Oh Cindy, you have my prayers honey! But really, I also believe that when it is your time, it is your time. God gives us the desires of our heart and we know it was a desire of your hubby's heart to do this...my prayer is that it will also become a desire of your heart to ride...lemme change that...I KNOW it is a desire of your heart to ride and be with your hubby...my prayer is that the Lord can squash that fear that you have right now...God bless you both my friend and keep you safe. I too pray everytime we get on the back of our Harley and I am always an extra set of eyes helping my hubby watch out for the "crazies" out there...so look at it that way as well...with you on the back with your eyes OPEN, you can help your hubby more than you know! |
Isn't that just like you to be so kind and thoughtful! :) I have a feeling you are going to end up having a wonderful time. You'll be in my prayers, too! |
Prayers coming your way! I know how you feel, I have a fear of motorcycles also! I hope you can overcome this fear and enjoy traveling with your husband. |
