Asking for Prayers Part 1: Please keep my husband in your prayers. As I type, he is driving his new motorcycle back from Orlando, FL. I took him to the airport yesterday afternoon. He walked away from the 2003 Anniversery Ultra Glide and bought the 2005 Ultra Glide Classic. Part 2: I agreed to be his "riding buddy" before he purchased the bike and will live up to my part of the bargain. However I am asking for prayers because I am terrified of motorcycles. Please pray that I will overcome my fear and enjoy the rides. If you are wondering why I agreed to be his riding buddy, it's because I really felt like it was the "right" thing to do. We have been married for 26 years -- long lasting relationships depend upon sacrafice - giving and taking. Riding a Harley with me on the back is a dream Ron has had since we started dating over 30 years ago, and my gift is to help fulfill this dream. It is such a small thing to do for one's soulmate -- particularly when the mate has given as much to a relationship as Ron has to ours. Footnote: Because of the circumstances -- hubby monopolizing my time in the search for the Harley of his Dreams-- I am running late on getting orders out. Everyone whose orders are mailed past my 10 day lead time will get 50% off on their next order. TreatClub orders will go out as scheduled on 8/1 and collar orders will start hitting the mail towards the middle of next week. I do appreciate your patience and continued prayers. |
Prayers for you. Not trying to scare you, but my hubby just got a cruiser after not having a motorcycle for over 20 yrs. I agreed he could get one though I am terrified of them. We had a wreck on one 24 yrs ago this Aug and I am disabled because of it. I will NOT get on it with him though he wants me to. I love him with all my heart and we have been married for 25 yrs come this December, but he knows that I am there in spirit rather than in person. If you can get past your scare, you will have a wonderful time. I loved it when I rode but i will not again. I am a nervouse wreck under the best of circumstances but there are too many idiots out there for me. |
I will absolutely pray for the both of you! I understand completely because I am terrified of motorcycles too and my DH has that same dream. |
Hey little frister, you know you are always in my prayers....and Ron too, and your kiddos. I know you are afraid but take short rides and I think you will learn to enjoy it and before you know it you will be in Krum:D Patty |
Praying and thinking about both of you. I'm sure this will bring upon many new adventures! I can't wait to see all of your pictures from your trips. |
You and your hubby will both be in my prayers from right this moment until he is home!! |
Hello - I Truely Understand And Admire Your Promise To Ride With You Husband. My Husband Too Has A Cruiser And Is Always Asking Me To Go With Him. But I Am Not A Lover Of Motorcycles And Will Not Do It...... I Think You Are Very Brave To Do This For Your Dear Husband... |

I am glad your hubby is home safe and sound. I do wish you god speed in your journey's with him. My SIL has a Harley and goes out only on Sundays with my daughter on the back. When they were dating I forbid her to get on but now I can't say anything. They have been married for 20yrs and he just loves them. I hope you get over your fears, if that's what you want and I will say a prayer that your both safe. |

My thoughts have always been if you're suppose to die by say a motorcyle, your gonna die by one whether your on it or walking down the street, and someone hits you with one. Get on enjoy the ride. It's a great feeling. |
Glad you hubby made it home safe and sound. :) I agree with Yorkiekids. I feel that when your times up, it's up no matter where you are or what your doing at the time. It's in God's hands. I will say a prayer for both of you to always have safe travels on the motorcycle. :hands: P.S. I still have a fear of them  and I'm telling you all of the above. ;) But my hubby doesn't have one, so I don't have to think about it like you do. |
ok ladies???!!! 2 Attachment(s) So what's all this silliness about fear of motorcycles? No need to be afraid! :) You're support for your hubby amazes me!! THAT IS what makes relationships work; sacrafice. I have been riding for many years and I got my husband into riding. Since then he's gone thru 5 bikes and now has his own riding friends he takes off with without me!! I have a silly little sport bike and he's now crossed over to the dark side--- he bought a 2007 Street Glide and it's absolutely gorgeous. Best of luck with bike and dreams do come true right?? :) You riders will always be in my prayers! Ride safe everybody!! |
Good luck with your riding I have to ask a nosy question, what is that behind the red van behind the motorcycle? |
Yay! I am glad that he made it home safely. His new bike looks GREAT!!! What made him change his mind on the bike? You will do fine......they are fun and you will enjoy it once you get past your first ride! HUGS!!! |
2 Attachment(s) I'm glad your hubby made it home safely. I ride and I love it, but I do the driving. Here's a picture of my bike. Bowie rides too and he loves it, in the picture with him he's actually looking at my bike and waiting to get going. Attachment 134486 Attachment 134487 I hope you love riding as much as I do, it take time getting used to the open feeling. Once you get used to that you should love it!!! I wish you the best in safe riding and enjoyment. |

Now that's a sacrifice...My hubby of 27 years, also loves his Harley, but you will not see me on it ever. Period. The end. On a serious note. Good luck, I pray you are able to overcome your fear and enjoy the moments you share with your hubby and his dream... |

He actually gets upset and whines when I start my bike if he can't go, then if I drive off without him he barks like crazy. I would love to ride down there, but I don't take him on freeways. |
Cindy, Are you going to wear a leather jacket and leather pants? |
You're braver than me. My husbad got his first Halrey in '77 and has had one ever since. He has a 2000 springer that he has changed around so much that he hardly ever rides it he is so busy working on it. I won't go near it. I am a big chicken. Enjoy. |

Oh the spending never ends when you become a "biker girl". We just bought a beautiful black full face helment, and I'm looking for gloves and some boots. Spent $8.00 on ONE pair of Harley socks today. I have never ever spent that much on a pair of socks. LOL Lookout poorhouse here we come! :lol tears I do need a good jacket, but the leather britches will have to wait until I have lost some weight. |
